Hunt for the Lost Folktales changes
🐺 Greeting Huntresses & Hunters!
This is a little developer update about the first Demo Patch (v1.1.26.501) to refine the tutorial to shorten the time to get to your 1st party recruit, additional clarity on quest objectives, tuned animation times to allow quicker inputs for exploring and combat, expanded the Compendium with Trinkets and Puzzle Scrolls pages, added audio for the Bird Scribes, and various bug fixes!
⚙️ Demo Improvements
Added another objective to the Ghost Hunt side quest and reduced the Ghost Defeated counts per objective (from Defeat 3-10-20 to Defeat 3-6-10-15) to get more Claws faster (from 3 to 4 claws)
Get to 1st Recruit faster by shortening time spent in the beginning Tutorial levels by cutting the Tangled Thicket level since combat gets more interesting with a party of 2
Tuned difficulty of Elder Teakettler for shortened tutorial (lowered max health)
Added Tutorial popup for identifying differences between trails to help teach there is a correct trail to follow to find the next location and a decoy trail that leads you to the Library
Updated text for Objectives to clarify that following trails to rifts will lead to a new location
Faster animation time for Wolf Howl and Wolf Sense to reduce delay before you can move again
Wolf Howl now a long-range ability to make Wisp Seekers travel longer distances to create that feeling of following a Wisp somewhere (creates distinction towards short-range Sense ability)
If you get lost, Wolf Sense now creates a "Trail Pointer" near the player to help you find your way back to the Trail for those wayward wanderers who enjoy exploration off the beaten trails
Added Snap Trap and Wraith to the Bestiary in the Compendium for those who want to preview their learned combat actions and read more about their lore
Added Trinkets page and Puzzle Scrolls page to the Compendium so they have their own dedicated info pages to make them more legible
Updated encounter in Woodcutter Glade level to replace a Snap Trap with a Teakettler
Updated encounter in Misty Grove level to replace a Water Leaper with a Teakettler
Faster animation time for Player's Combat Actions bar to appear/disappear so there is less of a delay between combat action inputs
Combat Camera now tracks player characters during their movement action
Faster animation time for Victory popup to allow quicker return to exploration mode
Hide the UI for Player Exploration Actions bar while in the Library world hub since those actions are not needed in that location
Added audio for Bird Scribe NPCs when they speak
🔨 Demo Bug Fixes
Fixed visual issue with some UI Text displays when using the Text Legibility settings option
Fixed issue with HUD Objective box scaling (Objective text now fits snugly in box)
Fixed issue where tutorial grass blockade lowers prematurely (after Investigation reveals the Elder Teakettler Pawprints, it will lower the blockade)
Fixed issue with rapid game time with VSync toggled off on high end computers by setting the application's target framerate to 60

As an indie developer, it is an immense help to hear from players on things they enjoyed as well as things that confused or frustrated them. From the feedback received, I can make refinements and fix any issues to improve the demo experience. I hope this demo patch makes the experience more fun!
