Huaxia: Warring States changes
Dear scholars,
This is the largest update since launch. We have fixed and optimized the most frequently raised issues from your feedback, added new systems, new content and new enemies, and patched a large number of bugs.
After the Early Access launch of Epic of Huaxia: Warring States, many flaws appeared and brought you a terrible gaming experience.
The root causes are closed-door development, conflicting design demands and a rushed release schedule.
The game’s completeness, quality and polish failed to meet expectations, and we have let down your long-term anticipation.
We offer our deepest apologies to all players here.
But we will never give up. The team will keep optimizing the game and enriching content with the utmost sincerity and effort, gradually presenting the grand Warring States world in our hearts to all of you completely step by step.
This road may be long, yet we will keep moving forward.
We sincerely ask you to grant us more time and trust.
Since launch, we have released multiple updates targeting the most concentrated feedback from players:
Fixes and Optimizations:
Localization
Better localization for ENG, added Thai, Russian, Korean and Japanese.
We will continue to polish all languages and add new ones, and also fix UI overlapping in the future.
World Map Stuttering + Camera
We restructured part of the underlying logic and optimized scene loading strategies. Issues including disappearing locations and stuttering during exploration on the world map have been significantly improved. Free camera rotation is now available.
Loading Optimization
We compressed resource packs and optimized loading queues. Now the average scene switching loading time is cut by 60%. Most devices load scenes within 1 to 2 seconds, making transitions between entering/exiting cities, map jumps and gameplay interface switches much faster.
Quest Streamlining
Older versions required accepting quests at bulletin boards, loading into cities, traveling to districts to talk with NPCs then leaving again. Most non-story quests can now be talked through with NPCs directly after acceptance at bulletin boards, drastically cutting unnecessary loading screens. Quest objective prompts are also clearer. We will further consolidate city districts in future patches to clarify city map navigation and reduce loading times even more.
Performance Optimization
We keep tuning performance for battles, worldmap and pop-up windows, greatly lifting overall frame rate stability.
Adjustments & Additions
Unified Inventory:
Previously each party hero held an independent item bar. Once a character’s carry capacity was full, you had to transfer items across different heroes, and searching for items required switching repeatedly, which was extremely annoying.
All members’ inventories are now merged into one shared party inventory, no frequent character swaps needed for item sorting.
New Collection Library Function:
Older builds could not track which recipes and books you owned or used, and only the protagonist was able to learn them. Books you’ve read and recipes you’ve learned will now carry a marker showing they are stored in the library.
Checked marks will appear beside read books and learned recipes in inventories and trade interfaces, so you can instantly confirm whether you need to obtain or use that book.
All learned materials will be saved to the clan’s shared Collection Library after use.
You may directly view all books of the Hundred Schools of Thought inside the library, every chapter of each classic, the school philosophy points, reading rewards, craft experience and acquisition methods attached to each single book.
All craftable recipes, recipe sources, required crafting materials and stat values of finished items can all be checked directly in the library. Retainer skill and philosophy learning functions will be rolled out in subsequent versions.
New Save System:
The entire save system has been remade. Past bugs including overlapping manual and auto-saves, insufficient auto-save slots and unloadable save files are all fixed. There is no longer risk of lost progress caused by unexpected game exits or incomplete cloud save uploads.
Nation AI:
We adjusted AI decision frequency. Diplomatic shifts, wars and alliances between kingdoms now happen more frequently and dynamically, making the world feel far more alive. Kingdoms will consciously unite to resist powerful rivals, sue for peace when outmatched, and launch full national mobilization when facing total conquest.
Expanded Battlefield:
Battlefields are now larger and more three-dimensional, supporting more units to fight simultaneously; reinforcements will join combat in more logical ways. Once the battlefield command system launches later, there will be abundant space for players to execute flanking, formation setup, ambushes and diversion tactics.
Unit Overhaul:
Troop casualty speed has been slowed, they will no longer be wiped out instantly by enemy heroes from both sides. Mid-to-late game will no longer feature disposable troops that get eliminated every battle, forcing players to only bring heroes. Mid and high-tier units deal higher damage so enemy heroes cannot easily defeat thousands of soldiers single-handedly (Heroes with top-tier gear and levels still retain this power). Class-specific stat gaps are strengthened to highlight unit characteristics: tanks absorb more damage, assassins deliver higher burst damage, and so on.
New Quests:
Multiple new blacksmithing bulletin board quests are added for gathering materials and quickly leveling crafting skills. More bulletin quests for all crafts will keep arriving in future updates.
New Secret Realms & Enemies:
New mid-game random secret realms are added: Rebel Camps, Ghostly Mines, Giant Beast Burial Grounds. They host masses of new enemies that drop epic-grade equipment, mounts, ritual artifact recipes and crafting materials.

New BOSS
New BOSS Wraith Fiend is added. Defeating it grants a chance to drop Wraith Twin Blades (epic quality, attacks apply burning damage over time). The boss holds a unique mechanic to summon spectral soldiers, please fight with caution.
Other issues you’ve reported that we haven’t yet resolved will be addressed in later patches.
Today, alongside our formal apology, we also want to inform everyone:
From today onward, development of Huaxia: Warring States will shift its focus from "fixing fundamental flaws that should have been resolved earlier" to two phases: "adding brand-new game content" and "polishing gameplay mechanisms and experience".
Full Nine Realm Map:
As development proceeds, we will gradually unlock the complete Nine Provinces overworld map, featuring more cities, landforms, random events and rival factions.\

Battle Command:
We are developing a deeper tactical battlefield command system for army formation control and tactical deployment. The core of this system grants players full command authority over legions. Later you may issue orders to separate battalions, swap formations freely and pre-set combat tactics, such as infantry forming front lines to hold aggro, cavalry flanking for surprise strikes, archers concentrating fire from the rear. Victory will truly rely on your formation layout and tactical timing instead of raw stat crushing by heroes and basic troops alone.
Clan & Heritage :
Players may arrange clan political marriages, raise heirs to carry on the bloodline, adopt retainers, form sworn brotherhoods and acknowledge adoptive parents. Naturally there will be various related story segments, which we will not elaborate on for content review compliance.
Upcoming features including battlefield command, full Nine Provinces map, fief allocation, garrison stat balance tuning, free camera mode, retainer philosophy tutoring and historical story events are all under intense development. We ask you for more patience, we will keep polishing the game until it satisfies all players.
We did not release an apology and future roadmap right after launch because we believe our failure is an undeniable fact, and empty excuses mean nothing. Only tangible updates can prove our resolve and sincerity to fix and perfect this game.
This major update acts as our milestone statement. All players who have tried Huaxia: Warring States can rest assured and look forward to future content. If you are still following this game, leave a comment — it is the biggest encouragement for our whole team.
In addition, next week we will deliver a free apology DLC as compensation for all players.
This costume set is named "Original Aspiration Robes", meant to urge our dev team to stay true to our initial vision while polishing gameplay and designing new mechanics.
This DLC is also our token of gratitude for your tolerance and support.
Besides this, a special punitive secret realm dungeon is added.
Inside the dungeon, players may discipline the producers and designers freely, letting all players disappointed by the rough launch vent their emotions and deliver well-deserved reprimands to push us to work harder.
The dungeon also drops exclusive apology robes worn by our development team and other special limited items.
Lastly, we apologize once more to every player who received a bad launch experience.
We fully understand player trust is the source of a game’s vitality, and we have stained this trust once before.
A complete long-term update roadmap will be released as soon as possible. Feel free to share your opinions and suggestions via comments and the attached survey form.
We thank every player for your criticism, advice and consistent companionship.
[p>Sincerely, Emperor Shi & The Development Team of Epic of Huaxia: Warring States\
