In addition, we’ve put together a high-level summary of the updates released over the past six months, so you can quickly catch up on the game’s progress. For full details, please refer to our previous update announcements.
Extensive Quality-of-Life Improvements
We’ve made hundreds of experience optimizations across the game. Examples include:
One-click operations in city, farm, and estate management panels
Sorting and filtering characters by attributes in many interfaces
Improved displays for city personnel lists, imperial examination schedules, noble family lists, and more
Upgraded character portraits to high-definition versions
Automatic succession of duties when retainers or clan members pass away
A new clan management panel
More detailed numerical tooltips across multiple interfaces
Added convenient actions (e.g. one-click shelving in the library, one-click selling and storing from farms)
UI optimizations (e.g. clicking on blank space to close open panels)
And many more similar improvements that are not listed here one by one.
Expanded Imperial Court Gameplay
In early versions, becoming an imperial relative did not meaningfully change interactions with the court. Through multiple updates, we’ve added a dedicated set of mechanics exclusive to imperial-affiliated families, including:
Influencing the emperor to issue edicts, deploy troops, and conduct imperial tours
Enfeoffing imperial princes as vassal kings and appointing the crown prince
Appointing the Empress Dowager
A regency system for imperial family members
Characters who marry into the imperial family also gain their own unique interactions (such as acting as regent).
In addition, we’ve introduced palace intrigue events, a vassal king system, and interaction mechanics between the imperial family, vassal kings, and noble houses.
Enriched Fief Gameplay
Within fiefs, we’ve added:
Military camp modules and multiple ways to recruit private troops
Conflict mechanics using private troops between noble houses, and between noble houses and the imperial family
Unlockable village and town tiles
Additional fief-related events
Deeper Internal Family Gameplay
We’ve significantly expanded family-focused systems, including:
A fully reworked clan skill system so all skills have meaningful impact
New interactions to improve spousal relationships
The ability to designate specific heirs for title inheritance
New clan roles and responsibilities
A large number of new internal family events
More ways to handle family events (punishments, physiognomy reading, matchmaking, etc.)
Expanded birth mechanics (twins, boy–girl twins, etc.)
Generation naming (courtesy generation names)
A family chronicle system
Adoption mechanics
A family cemetery scene, allowing construction of exclusive family graveyards to bury clan members
Expanded Interactions Between Noble Houses
We’ve added and improved systems such as:
Dedicated interaction mechanics for clan members married into other noble houses
Automatic marriage proposals from other noble houses
New events involving married-out clan members in other families
A mechanism for the emergence of new noble houses
Richer interactions with members of other noble houses (seduction, marrying widowed spouses or taking in husbands, etc.)
Conflicts between noble houses using private troops
Officialdom and Bureaucratic Gameplay
New and expanded official systems include:
The ability for prefectural cities to issue policies
Expanded authority for the Six Ministries, for example:
The Minister of Personnel can recommend officials
The Minister of Rites can revoke scholars’ titles
The Minister of Justice can alter sentences
The Minister of War can independently raise imperial guards
The Minister of Revenue can allocate funds from the state treasury
