Thank you for the warm reception for our 1.0 Release Date Announcement last week, we can't wait to get you all check-in to the full version of our game. In the build up to launch, each week we're going to do a deep dive into the upcoming features (and new maps) coming to Hotel Architect in 1.0!
As a reminder, these are some of the new features you can expect:
Todays feature focus is gardens, balconies, and outdoor spaces, which have been requested since we first ran playtests for Hotel Architect almost two years ago. We're pleased to reveal the first teasers of what those will look like in-game, and a bit about how they will work!
Gardens
As you might have spotted in the screenshot of the Black Forest location, there's a lot more greenery and open space available on this map... which is perfect for building a beautiful garden space for your guests to enjoy!
Whilst there was some outdoor decorations and items available throughout Early Access, the 1.0 version will bring vastly more options to decorate your outdoor spaces including flower beds, greenery, trees, beehives, a wider range of foundations, additional statues and more.
Each of these items adds to the general attractiveness of the hotel, which is both aesthetically pleasing for you... but will also be appreciated by your guests and reviewers!

Balconies
Unlocking balconies will require having the 'balcony' upgrade enabled. This will be a part of the new, major renovation, for the upgrade tree coming to the 1.0 release.
Balconies are structural, so will be found in the same area as where you can currently select the foundations, inner walls or material sites. To construct and create a beautiful balcony for your guests, you will need to set the balcony area. A balcony area can be placed on any open space, above the ground floor, where there is not already a foundation built.
Balconies can be decorated using any outdoor items or fences. That means you can place fences (which define a boundary area so characters cannot pass through them), greenery, flowers, and any outdoor items you see fit.

Outdoor Spaces
Plus... you will now be able to create certain zones outside, like restaurants for example! For now, we'll just leave you with a teaser of what that will look like. :DinnerServed:
We hope that you've enjoyed reading all about this upcoming feature coming to the 1.0 version of Hotel Architect, and we can't wait to see all of the new ways you design your hotels when these outdoor spaces become available.
Next week, we will reveal more about the Black Forest location (which is coincidentally the map we have chosen to showcase balconies and gardens on) so please stay tuned for more!
