Hi Hoteliers,
Welcome back to our Feature Focus blog series where we explore some of the standout features of Hotel Architect. Today, we're turning attention to Bellhops, a unique staff type who we introduced in the December 2025 'Bellhop and Room Service' update.
The primary job of the Bellhop is to carry guests luggage to their rooms, as well as offer Room Service for guests who order it. In appearance, Bellhops have a similar uniform design to the Receptionists - except their clothing is purple.
How to Unlock Bellhops
Bellhops can be unlocked via the Upgrade tree.
First, you must unlock the 'Special bedroom amenities' upgrade.
Then, you will be able to unlock the 'Bellhop service' which unlocks the bellhop staff type, luggage storage and room service table.

Bellhop Tasks
The Bellhops can be assigned to two tasks:
Luggage Service
Room Service
About Luggage Service:
You must place the 'Luggage Storage' item, found under 'Reception' items in order for Bellhops to be able to complete this task. Guests can leave their luggage in the 'Luggage Storage' upon arrival, and from here Bellhops will take their luggage to their respective rooms.
Bellhops can only carry one piece of luggage at a time, so be sure to hire enough staff to meet the demands of your guests!
About Room Service:
To allow your guests to order Room Service, you must first purchase a 'Room service table' for their bedroom. Bellhops will provide guests with the refreshments they have ordered, straight to their room.
As with the Luggage Service, Bellhops can only provide room service to one guest at a time. This is why it's really important to manage staff wisely, so as not to upset your guests!
Skill Training
Like all staff types, bellhops have specific skills that can be trained to benefit their role. These include:
- CosmeticHeavy LifterIncreases movement speed by 50% while carrying luggage.
- CosmeticSpeedy Room ServiceIncreases movement speed by 50% while carrying room service items.
- CosmeticTip MagnetProviding luggage or room service to a guest earns an extra $50.
