Update 0.2 is here, and it’s a big one. This update focuses on expanding gameplay variety, improving systems, and making every run feel more dynamic and challenging. Let’s dive into what’s new!
World Map & Objectives
The World Map introduces a new way to navigate between locations, making it easy to see what maps are available at a glance.
Alongside it comes Objectives, designed to keep every run fresh. The world map clearly shows which objectives are active on each map, encouraging variety and replayability.
Objectives include:
Survive the Waves
Power Up the Relic
Purge the Zone
Map Entities
While exploring, you’ll now encounter treasure chests after completing certain objectives, making exploration more rewarding. Just be careful - some areas may hide traps waiting for the unwary.
Quests
Quests are a brand-new system in Update 0.2. They challenge players with specific goals and reward them with coins and sometimes even unique rewards like new abilities.
Stats
For all you stat lovers out there: You can now track all kinds of statistics, sortable by individual seasons or across all seasons combined.
Improved UI
The Play Menu has received several requested redesigns to make navigation faster and clearer. You can now quickly access:
Quests
News
Leaderboards
Stats
All while keeping the familiar feel intact.
Difficulty Tuning
Difficulty has been heavily tuned to make the game more challenging while preserving that satisfying gameplay flow. The game now:
Scales better with player count
Takes additional factors into account when spawning enemies
Throws larger hordes your way
Improved Pathfinding
A lot of time was invested into creating a new, robust pathfinding system. The old system struggled with complex maps and corridors but the new one supports advanced layouts while staying highly optimized, which was a top priority.
Coming very soon; New Map - Sunken Sewers
Descend into the Sunken Sewers, a dark and dangerous underground map filled with tight corridors, hidden paths, and lurking threats. Exploration is rewarded - but danger is always close.
Coming very soon; New Enemies
Face off against new foes that will test your positioning and awareness:
Viper
Mutant Rat
Beholder
Each brings new attack patterns and challenges to overcome.
New Season
Season 2 has begun! A huge thank you to everyone who participated in Season 1 - your names are now engraved in the Hall of Fame on the leaderboards.
Version 0.2.1 will arrive during the holidays and will include the new map, new enemies, and some minor fixes. I will also post an update outlining what’s planned for the future.
See you in the horde,
