Hold The Mine changes
The May update is finally here! I was really sick the first week of the month, so my ability to work on the game was severely affected. This update marks also the beginning of the new series of updates included in the new roadmap I shared a week ago.
I’m pretty excited with all the stuff I have planned, a lot of things happening behind the scenes as I start setting things up for upcoming changes and most wanted additions like the mid run saving system and new game mechanics.
This month's update might seem a bit small compared to previous big updates, but that’s because the next ones require a lot of preparation work I need to tackle first, but I was still able to make several new content additions I hope you’ll enjoy.
Patch Highlights
2 Weather Events
Missing 5th powers for the Sea Witch, Huntress and Dragon Hunter
2 New Relics
1 New Building
Periodic effect and Summon cooldowns buff
Engineer & Sea Witch buff
Shop/Demolition Last Minute Button
Since the initial release, Weather Events only included 3 unique ones: the Snowstorm, Heavy Rain and Eclipse. My goal was always to have more unique events like this that can alter the experience for a day and spice things up. 2 new ones are added with this update, and more are coming.
Periodic effects and Summons tightened to cooldown had a big disadvantage at the start of the battle, especially when the cooldown value was big. To make those long cooldowns feel more fair, I’ve made the decision to half the cooldown at the start of the battle for both periodic and summon. After this initial occurrence, it goes to the default value as intended.
Examples:
Necromancer can summon Minions every 6 seconds. With the change, the first summon happens only 3 seconds after the start of the battle, then it goes back to the default 6 seconds cooldown for the next occurrences.
Wind Maker building effect has a periodic cooldown of 12 seconds. With the change, the first trigger happens only 6 seconds after the start of the battle, then it goes back to the default 12 seconds cooldown for the next occurrences.
This is the list of the Powers and Buildings positively affected by this change:
Heroes (Powers):
Necromancer (Minions)
Engineer (Defense Turret, Chrono Bomb)
Wizard (Tornado, Polymorph)
Alchemist (Toxic Rain)
Dragon Hunter (Dragon Spear)
Bastion (Tectonic Shock)
Rogue (Death Mark)
Sea Witch (Aqua Prison)
Huntress (Ambush, Easy Shot)
Buildings:
Bomb Workshop
Volcano Heart
Wind Maker
Strange Glimstone
Electric Pole
Another highly requested addition was a way to avoid missing a last visit to the shop before a battle. I added an extra button near the “Start Battle” button that appears at the end of the day to avoid further frustration.

Meteor Shower (new weather): Periodically drops a meteor onto the battlefield every 10 seconds. On impact, the Meteor deals 20 damage to all enemies within the area. Meteors must be destroyed in order to attack enemies behind them.
Gold Digger Tent (new uncommon building): Whenever a hero’s basic attack deals a Critical hit, 40% chance of throwing a pickaxe at a random location. The pickaxe deals 100% of the hero’s damage to the first enemy it hits.

Balancing (+)
Periodic effects and Summon cooldowns start at half their value when the battle starts.
Engineer base damage has been increased from 6 to 7.
Engineer base range has been increased from 7 to 8.
Sea Witch base range has been increased from 9 to 9.5.
Tidal Wave (Sea Witch’s Power) percent damage has been increased from 100% to 200%.
Dragon Pet (Dragon Hunter Power) summon base range has been increased from 6 to 7.
Other Changes
Remove the Vsync setting. It was causing a lot of trouble in the game for several reasons, making the game unstable and could even prevent some players from launching the game. Adjusting FPS is still available.
A new shortcut Button is available near the “Start The Battle” at the end of the day when there is a shop or demolition service available today.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where summon spawn positions for Necromancer and Engineer summons could be handled incorrectly in some cases.
Fixed an issue where switching heroes on the Hero Upgrade Panel could make the hero visual grow indefinitely.
Fixed an issue with Ambush (Huntress Power) and Fire Dance (Dragon Hunter Power) that prevents the sounds of those effects from playing.
Fixed an issue with Heavy Rain event that was reducing the duration of all status effects to 1 second instead of reducing the total duration by 50%.
Fixed an issue with the hero stat small window that could be rendered behind summon like the baby dragon and prevent players from seeing all the information.
Fixed an issue where a destroyed building could appear again as a new blueprint.
What's Next? July Update
Next big update is planned for July and will introduce a brand new hero to the roaster, bringing the total amount of available heroes to 13! New gems (!!!) and buildings are part of the plan as well. I'll make sure to give you more details once I've made enough progress.
That is all for this update. Again, thank you all for the support, If you’ve been enjoying the game, one of the most impactful ways to support it is by leaving a Steam review. It helps players discover the game and gives me valuable feedback.
