This update is mostly about polish, clarity, and small quality-of-life improvements, with one pretty big visual change.

Improved kana stroke order animation

The main kana stroke order animation has been reworked to be clearer and easier to follow.

The animation now transitions from cyan to black ink instead of white to black ink.

The starting cyan is much more visible and eye-catching right from the beginning of the animation, making it easier to track each stroke as it’s drawn. This should make learning and following stroke order feel more natural and less visually confusing.

And the black is also a little softer too ;)

Smaller installation size

We’ve removed a number of unused kana renders, which reduces the overall installation size without affecting gameplay or visuals.

New pause behavior (Escape key)

Pressing Escape during the main game now puts the game into a paused state. The currently selected card is placed back onto the deck, and gameplay is safely paused until you resume.

Deck shuffling and what not are still being figured out, so expect changes and improvements here in future updates.

UI polish & kana selection improvements

The kana selection menu introduced in the last patch also received more work related to kana tracking. While the statistics aren’t visible yet, you can now highlight any kana of your choice. The plan is to show the new statistics here in a future update. More coming soon!

And lastly we have updated some UI to be a little more polished across the game.
