We are back with the 4th edition of the HIPS N NOSES Development Log!
Can you believe we’re already halfway through the year? Time flies, but that also means the day we finally show you the world of HIPS N NOSES is drawing closer by the day!
In this month's devlog, we’re excited to share our latest development progress, along with the highly anticipated Steam Demo release schedule! Let’s dive right in!🚀
🌆New Area
During our playtest back in February, we received a lot of feedback that it was a bit disappointing not being able to explore much outside the café during the management phase.
We spent a lot of time brainstorming how to address this.
We realized that simply expanding the space around the café wouldn’t be enough to showcase everything we have in store.
So, we made a bold decision to build an entirely new space!
We have added a Plaza Map, offering you a sneak peek into Al Wake City —the city that never sleeps!
In the Plaza Map, you'll be able to immerse yourself in the cityscape crafted in our unique art style and meet the diverse customers who visit your café.
Moving forward, we plan to add hidden exploration elements where you can uncover lore and secrets about the world, so please look forward to it!
💬Improved Dialogue Presentation
In the latest version you played, conversations with NPCs visiting the café were a bit static, without any special visual presentation.
Our dev team has always wanted to deliver not just fun management and combat, but also a deeply immersive narrative and character stories.
Taking your feedback to heart, we set out to completely overhaul the dialogue presentation!
We’ve added unique entrance animations for each NPC that reflect their distinct personalities, along with dynamic character motions that match their lines, adding an extra layer of life and immersion.
It’s a bit of a bummer that we can only show you still screenshots today instead of GIFs or videos, as they don't fully do it justice!
👩🍳New Party Member: Paulette
In our previous devlog, we introduced Paulette's role in the management phase, remember? This time, we want to give you a quick teaser of Paulette’s weapon concepts for the combat phase!
As a skilled dessert pastry chef, Paulette wields various baking and cooking utensils as her weapons inside the dream world! You’ll get to experience her uniquely delicious combat style very soon, so stay tuned!
🗓️Steam Demo Release Schedule
Before our official launch in Q1 next year, we have a massive milestone ahead of us: releasing our Steam Demo!
Since we are planning to participate in various global game shows in the second half of this year, we’ve aligned our demo release schedule accordingly. And the official date is...
July 31st! Just one month away!🥳
In this free demo version, you will be able to experience a full in-game week (7 days).
This version will feature major improvements, fixes, and polishes based on the feedback from our previous playtest.
We will share more precise details and announcements closer to the date.
