HEXCRAWL changes
HEXCRAWL Early Access — Patch 0.9.24
Island fog now remembers what you cleared — explored ground stays revealed when you leave and come back. Books and recipe scrolls mark what you already know, Autosave lets you pick which milestones write progress, Enchanting Dust will be found more often as drops, bosses spread out more fairly within a tier, and a batch of inventory safety fixes keep unique gear from vanishing into a bad swap. Hints & Tips is now "Guide."
Island memory: Explored island ground should stay revealed after you leave — no more leftover fog tint turning cleared shores and neighbors gray again while delves still showed.
Books & recipes: Lore books mark Already read. after opening, bestiaries show Entries studied: N/M (Mastery-granting foes only), and formula scrolls say Recipe already known. once learned.
Autosave When: Options → Gameplay lets you tick any mix of Autosave milestones (Enter Settlement, Campsite Rest, Enter Landmark, Enter / Leave Delve, Port Travel, Boss Defeated) — ALL flips every tick at once. On Marked and Mortal, Autosave follows the same place rules as Manual save (Sanctuary, Campsite, or Cleared Site); Boss Defeated now fires inside an open Delve too. Campsite Rest can Autosave. Settlement Autosave hitch is lighter after many New Game runs, and the floating “Autosaved” over your token is gone on settlement entry (top-right toast remains). Map places in Guide read Settlements, Delve sites, and Landmarks — Options Enter Landmark matches that term.
Enchanting & salvage: Enchanting Dust is no longer sold in shops — salvage magical gear (Enchanter's Kit or Enchanting Mastery) to get it. Arcane foes occasionally drop Dust; stronger casters can drop rarer colors. Salvage puts reagents in the same bag hex as the item when it can, lists what you received, and refuses instead of eating the item when there's no room.
Bosses: Legendary Uberbosses have less health on first meet; the toughest gothic Castle overlords no longer out-tank the rest of their tier. Site Overbosses and Uberbosses vary more within a tier, and the jump from Overboss to Uberboss is less of a sudden wall. Uberbosses still grow stronger if you return after a kill.
Inventory & combat: Equipping a two-hander while dual-wielding warns and refuses when bags are too full (no more lost hand weapons). Unique/boss items that would be destroyed by a bad overwrite are quietly reserved in the Lost Items Vault. Everstrike / Everbolt show conjured ammo art in the off-hand and in flight. Attack rolls linger a beat on the final total.
Guide: Hints & Tips is now Guide — open with T, G, or F1.
Also in this build: Several minor tweaks and additional polish.
