Spotlight: Playtest rewards

We are thrilled to share the official preview of an exclusive in-game cosmetic and title for everyone who joined our playtests. A permanent and unique way to show you were there at the very beginning, helping us bring Helrift to life.

It is our way of thanking you for being part of our world when it wasn't quite so complete or polished.

In-game Title

Titles are earned by completing achievements and reaching major milestones. Whether you're a feared warrior, renowned hunter, or dedicated craftsman, your title serves as a visible record of your accomplishments for all to see.

The Wayfarer title is exclusively unlocked for playtesters.

Cloak cosmetic

This rare item will tell the world you were there at the beginning. The Wayfarer Cloak skin can be applied to a standard cloak using the in-game customisation window. This is also where you can dye equipment.

The very first Travellers appeared on the shores of Wayfarer's Rest during a concentrated spike of pure Rift energy. This moment is recorded in history books as The Great Shift. A mana burst washed over the island, and whilst the unconscious Travellers were unharmed the islands vegetation absorbed most of the magical radiation.

Fields of flax growing across the island absorbed particularly large amounts of mana. The inner fibres turned a deep purple and the sap began to emit a soft, permanent glow.

Recognizing the magnitude of this event, the early caretakers of Wayfarer’s Rest mapped the sky on this fateful night. They harvested the irradiated flax crop and carefully wove the stars and geographical alignments present at the time of the Great Shift directly into the fabric. They spun the yarn into heavy, wind-resistant cloaks to protect the newly-arrived Travellers from the biting sea breeze.

Shortly after that initial flax harvest the soil of Wayfarer’s Rest stabilized, the mutated flax died out, and any seeds planted afterward grew back rather ordinary.

To wear the cloak is to carry the markings of the Great Shift.
