Hello Neighbor 3 changes
We are happy to share with you the newest version of Hello Neighbor 3!
This time it’s pre-Alpha!
Thanks to your support and feedback, the game has moved past the prototype phase.
We have established a solid foundation of understanding how the game should work and fully figured out the core story of Hello Neighbor 3. So, everything you’ll come across while playing is part of the full game’s narrative.
If you haven’t played any of the Hello Neighbor games before, this one is the best to start with!
It requires no prior knowledge of the series while also being easily approachable.
However, those who are familiar with the series will get extra depth into the story and gameplay.
Biggest changes since the previous version:
Progressing the game is now much easier. The new objective system helps you to follow the narrative while keeping the free-roam nature of the game.
No need to speedrun to beat the game. Now you can progress gradually across multiple “loops”. The end of the “loop” is not a game over but rather a seamless restart with your current objectives carrying over.
Improved characters' behavior. Actions are more deliberate and predictable. Also, sneaking works better!
The Guest’s behavior and gameplay are now more interesting
Map updated with new locations and improved existing ones
Many objects and characters now have high-quality visuals
New items added and existing ones reworked
Fall damage adds complexity and planning to your exploring (we promise)
Canon story, including the Protagonist!
and more!!
WAIT! Before you start playing! Check the new episode of the Developer Diary!
If you’ve played the previous prototypes, you should already have access: just look for “Hello Neighbor 3 Playtest” in your Steam Library and make sure it’s updated to the latest version. If you’re joining for the first time, you can request access directly on Steam by clicking the green “Request Access” button on the Hello Neighbor 3 page.
IN CASE THE GAME WON’T START:
If you played previous prototypes
Uninstall HN3 through Steam
Find the folder located in … [your user name] \\AppData\\Local\\HelloNeighbor3 and delete it.
Install HN3 via Steam
If you are using third-party modding tools (like, Ultimate Editor Tool)
Delete its components for HN3
Reinstall HN3
We’d really appreciate it if you’d fill out this form after you play pre-Alpha!
