🚧 Full Launch Progress

Development is still moving forward at full speed. We’re currently deep into preparing the game for its full release, and things are coming together.

We’re planning to announce the full launch date next month, alongside a brand-new trailer. We’re excited to finally share a more complete look at what HELLBREAK is shaping up to be.

🏰 New Arena – A Deeper Look

We’re continuing work on the upcoming new arena, and this time we wanted to show a different part of it.

While the previous preview focused on the main floor with its crypt-like theme, this new look highlights the lower level, which leans into a more intense lava-driven atmosphere. The goal here is to create a stronger sense of depth and contrast within the arena, both visually and thematically.

☠️ New Enemy – Lich

We’re also introducing a new enemy type: Lich.

The Lich is designed to add a different layer of threat to encounters, requiring players to be more aware of positioning and priority targeting.

The Lich is only one part of something much more powerful that’s coming, but we’ll leave the rest for the upcoming trailer. 👀

🩸 Curse Combinations

In our previous update, we mentioned that we’re working on combining curses to create new ones. We can now share a couple of examples of how this system works:

  • Stormbind (Frostbind + Shock) : You can now combine Frostbind and Shock to create Stormbind. Stormbind shock damage can apply Frostbind, on top of the base effects of both curses.

  • Rotfire (Inferno + Blight) : You can now combine Inferno and Blight to create Rotfire. Rotfire causes enemies to take 150 damage each second, in addition to the base effects of Inferno and Blight.

Combinations will appear as blessing options during a run, but only if you already have access to applying both of the required base curses. This ensures they feel like a natural extension of your build rather than something that overrides it.

These combinations are designed to build on existing systems, creating stronger synergies without replacing what’s already there. We’re continuing to test and expand this system.

🎮 Steam Deck & Platform Features

We’re currently working with Steam to implement the necessary changes for HELLBREAK to be officially verified on Steam Deck. This includes platform-specific adjustments to ensure a smooth experience.

Alongside that, full launch will include:

  • Steam Trading Cards

  • Badges and their rewards, including emotes and profile backgrounds

  • 20+ new achievements

⚙️ Performance & Optimization

We’ve already taken important steps toward improving performance, especially in more demanding scenarios, and this remains an active focus.

We’re continuing to work on specific areas to ensure smoother and more consistent gameplay, particularly as more content is added.

👀 Looking Ahead

We’re getting closer to full launch, and there’s still more to share. We’re currently working on the new trailer, featuring a heavy metal soundtrack as usual, and we’re excited to share it alongside the full launch date announcement next month.

As always, thank you for your continued support. Feel free to share your thoughts on the Steam forums or our Discord, and if you’ve been enjoying HELLBREAK, leaving a positive review helps us more than you might think.

More soon. 💀🔥
