What changed
- Gameplay
Hell of a Bullet changes
I've been working tirelessly to add as much content as I can for the first Early Access version. After a lot of development, playtesting and screaming at my friends, I'm finally ready to announce that the new features will be ready to be experimented in the game first public version!
But first... A new look
Hell of a Bullet now have an incredibly beautiful art done by the talented Ana Laura (ninikiwitch). For those who actually liked the previous art.. Wait, what? No one liked the previous one?
Steam post imageWasn't that bad, right? Oh, who am I kidding...
Thanks again Ana for such an incredible art.
Game modes
The initial version of Hell of a Bullet is coming with 4 game modes:
Survival - This is the standard game mode where when you die, you're dead! The match ends if you survive long enough or everyone dies.
Arcade - Very similar to survival, but you actually get back from the dead after 30s, loosing some points in the revival process. I heard this dynamic makes killing your friends in the last second worth it, but who knows? Strange rumors, right?
Training mode - Perfect to actually understand the mechanics and how the enemies work without all the chaos. In this mode the host controls the enemies spawn.
Builder mode - In this mode everyone takes turns putting spawns in the arena until everyone is dead.
Modifiers
There are two types of modifiers in Hell of a Bullet: Win conditions and Match modifiers
Win conditions
Want to customize who gets the glory? You don't need to play with the standard rules. You can configure the win condition to be:
Standard - More points.
Last Player Standing - The last player to die wins. Perfect for killing other players.
Most Tension Points - The player with the most tension points wins. You get those by dodging bullets at the last moment!
Defeat more enemy of Type - The player who defeats more of one enemy wins.
Match modifiers
Those modifiers are used to customize gameplay. Currently there are more than 20! With more to come... Here are some highlights:
Fast/Slow ship.
Big/Small ship.
Physics based ship (your ship now has physics based controls and accumulates speed).
Risky shots (maybe you get damaged when shooting).
Deadly trails (your ship trail damages other players).
Random CHAOS
Random Chaos is a special match modifier that activates other modifiers randomly during the match. It's pretty fun! But also it may be fatal.
Want to test it out? Go play the free demo
There's a free demo available now. You can play all the modes WITH YOUR FRIENDS in online multiplayer, but only in the first arena with standard rules and no modifiers.
A modular game
Any modifier and any custom spawn rule can be used in any mode*, if it makes sense to do so. Yes, you can play training with random chaos!
*Leaderboard is only available for standard mode with standard rules
