Hi everyone! 👋
July has flown by, and we’ve been hard at work getting Heidi’s Legacy ready for the big stage: Gamescom 2025! 🎉
We’re thrilled to be part of the Indie Arena Booth (Hall 10.2), and that means a lot of preparation behind the scenes: printings for the booth, designing cards and stickers, scheduling meetings, and (of course) polishing the demo so it runs smoothly and bug-free for everyone who plays it in Köln ✨
🐐 Bug Fixes: The Sliding Saga
This month, we tackled a series of physics bugs that caused goats - and even Adèle - to slide around like they were on ice! While it was sometimes funny to watch, it’s not quite the peaceful mountain life we imagined 🙄
🌫️ Bringing the Mountains to Life w/ Volumetric Fog
To make the game’s atmosphere even richer, we implemented volumetric fog across the mountain landscapes. Now, morning mist rolls down the hills, and sunsets feel more dramatic and immersive than ever!
🔥 Sneak Peek: Outdoor Bread Oven
We’re also working on new buildings, and here’s a little preview! We started modeling a traditional outdoor oven, inspired by real alpine designs. It’s still a work in progress, it’s quite hard to find a way to render stones while keeping the watercolor effect.
📖Journaling
Similar to Kamaeru, the journal will come in handy to log every quest you have with the characters. We also made it so that the main page is a good recap of your mountain life so far 🐐
📌 Stay in the Loop!
We’re sharing devlogs like this one every month, and the best way to keep up with our progress is to push the Follow button on Steam! That way, you’ll get notified as soon as we post something new.
Thank you for all your support, and see you soon—maybe even in person at Gamescom! 💚
