Overview: Join the first season of the Heartwell Community Challenge! This will be the first of many fun Heartwell competitions with three ways to compete: Beat the Author Time for any exit category!

addedHow to Play: Setup your video recording software/hardware. You will be required to provide a link to a YouTube video of your run when submitting your run to the leaderboards. Start a new save file in the Heartwell Demo. The run must be started and completed on the same save file. Time for a run starts the moment that the player can move using the "W", "A", "S", or "D" keys in Bardolf Well. Time for a run ends when the player reaches the Bardolf Well Exit for the category they've chosen. Each exit has a separate leaderboard! Submit your run details link to the leaderboards using the Submission Form linked further below!

changedCreativity Challenge Rules: Creativity challenge submissions may include, but are not limited to: Completing a run with extra challenge(s)/rule(s) imposed on top of the current community challenge ruleset. Completing a run in an unorthodox way, such as by using a glitch or skip. When submitting a run for the creativity challenge, provide a detailed description in the “Comments” section of the Submission Form that describes what makes this run unique. Runs submitted without comments will not be considered for the Creativity Challenge. If a run is listed among the top 3 fastest runs for its exit category after the submission deadline, that run will (usually) not be eligible for the creativity challenge. If multiple players submit runs for the same creativity challenge idea, the fastest of these runs will be selected as the winner.

  3. Provide the most creative run!

Our first season will be an Any% competition, and the rules are listed below:

  1. How to Play:

    1. Setup your video recording software/hardware. You will be required to provide a link to a YouTube video of your run when submitting your run to the leaderboards.

    2. Start a new save file in the Heartwell Demo. The run must be started and completed on the same save file.

    3. Time for a run starts the moment that the player can move using the "W", "A", "S", or "D" keys in Bardolf Well.

    4. Time for a run ends when the player reaches the Bardolf Well Exit for the category they've chosen. Each exit has a separate leaderboard!

Submission Deadline:

All runs for this season must be submitted by 6:00 p.m. EST on Thursday August 28, 2025, after which the following winners will be announced (with links to their runs):

  • Top 3 Fastest Runs for the Caria Forest Exit

  • Top 3 Fastest Runs for the Polestar Highlands Exit

  • Top 3 Fastest Runs for the Dorada Coast Exit

  • Creativity Challenge Winner

Winners will be announced within 2 weeks of the submission deadline closing. The next season's rule set for the Heartwell Community Challenge will also be announced within 2 Weeks of the submission deadline.
