Harem in Another World v0.9 development update

​Hi All,

Just thought I'd let you know how the development of the v0.9 update is coming along. I post devlogs every two weeks online but thought I would drop a wider, summary devlog here to keep you guys informed. The current release date is set as the 23rd September! That might move a week either side but expect it around that time.

This next update is shaping up to be a bumper one, with around twice as much new content as the last update! New scenes, new main story, new relationship quests, new outfits, new upgrades. There's a whole load of great stuff being added, I'm excited for you all to play it.

First off, thank you to everyone who participated in the feedback survey, it's been very useful to me and it was great hearing all of your lovely feedback! The survey is still live if you haven't participated yet, just check the previous news post. There are lots of QoL improvements coming out off the back of that, I thought I'd shout out a couple of them here:

• The vast majority of players sped up combat, so I'm changing the default speed to "fast". You will still be able to slow it down to the original speed or sped it up to Ultra fast.

• I'll be adding an option to change the colour of your banners and your castle guards after purchasing them, so you're not stuck with one colour.

• I'll be adding a signpost near Halden so it's clearer that you can walk along the beach to get there, as some people got lost at that section

• I've removed the option to be able to equip things to the girls. You couldn't actually put anything on them anyway, but the menu still existed

This is by no means all of the changes, just some that came from the survey and can be easily put into a bullet point. At the same time I did a full run through of the game and ended up with 14 full pages of notes! So there's been a lot of small improvements and tune up taking place across the game.

I don't want to get too deep into the censorship discussion, my assumption is if you are reading this you already know about Steam and Itch's crackdown caused by mastercard and visa. Plus the UK requiring ID checks to look at adult content, just a big old shit show all round. Harem in Another World has not been banned from either platform which is good, but it is still de-listed from itch. Which in short terms means my income just got cut by around 50%. This doesn't stop me working, but it makes the day to day of paying artists and animators a lot more difficult.
