IMPORTANT NOTE : You MAY have to verify integrity of game files to install the new redistributables

1. Main Menu Steam post image

Aside from extra style that I won't spoil here, this will be one of the first things you will see when you launch Harbinger - Legacy Edition after the 1.5 update. Here, you can easily select Singleplayer or Multiplayer, Or even launch the Harbinger ini Editor! (This is your settings menu!)

2. Singleplayer Steam post image

When you click Singleplayer, you'll have an assortment of options. Main Story, The Extraction, and Infestation.

3. Infestation

Steam post imageWhen you click Infestation, you'll have only one character unlocked to begin with; Alston City Survivor. You'll also have a Field Manual which you can view to get a better understanding onto how the new Infestation works and how to unlock other maps and characters.

Steam post imageNote the symbols on the maps and characters, they're your key to unlocking more! Let's go back a bit now, and take a look at the Multiplayer option of the Main Menu!

4. Multiplayer

Steam post imageWhen you click on Multiplayer, you'll have two options; Online Arena and Instant Action. Online Arena will of course, require an active internet connection, and minor setup as per-usual. Instant Action requires no active internet connection nor setup, and is entirely offline with bots.

When selecting Online Arena, you'll be able to choose which map you'd like to find/create a match for. And yes, Infestation is staying in its PvP form here!

When selecting Instant Action, you'll get to choose which side you'd like to fight for....

Steam post imageWithout spoiling anything...That's the new launcher! It was a lot of work, but so deeply worth it. It's a much needed QoL improvement that takes Harbinger - LE another step towards quality. I can't wait to hear everyone's experiences with the new mode and the new launcher! If you face any technical difficulties, PLEASE let me know, I want this to be as polished and as simple to use as possible.

Here's that aforementioned Change Log, by the way :

  • Replaced all launchers with the Harbinger Central Launcher, A new launcher that acts as the definitive main menu for Harbinger - Legacy Edition.

Contains easy access to all modes and the Harbinger INI Editor without the use of Steam Launch Options.

Included improved functionality for automatically locating Harbinger install directory as well as manual inputting for custom install locations.

  • Reworked how the Harbinger INI Editor found the game's install directory. Now it will locate directly through the detected location from the Central Launcher.

  • Moved Infestation from Instant Action and into its own mode in the "Singleplayer" section of the Central Launcher.

Survive as long as you can against a horde of dangerous monsters!

Now includes 4 maps total and 3 separate characters each with their own secret weapons and load-outs.

  • Changed the "YOU ARE DEAD" screen in the Main Story, The Extraction, and Infestation to wait for player input, allowing for the player to choose if they want to reload a save or just load back to the main menu from there.

(For Infestation and The Extraction, only Loading back to the main menu is available. This is to let the player see their score/prepare before returning to menu.)

(Not present in any other mode as none of them have scores/saves.)

  • Added Walls to VR in Multiplayer, the pit in the original design caused serious issues with playability.

The pit remains in Instant Action.

  • Fixed ammo boxes not actually giving Agent players' any ammo upon pickup in Infestation's PvP Multiplayer

  • Fixed player unable to pickup or use weapons in BTPA's Siege on Instant Action

  • Fixed the improper mouse pointer being used on the Pause menu for Cultist's VR in Instant Action

  • Fixed the Pause Menu saying "Exit to Desktop" instead of "Return to Menu" for VR in Instant Action

  • Added proper pathways to the stairway in M1 of the Main Story, now enemies can chase you up and down them.

  • Fixed Secret walls exclaiming you found a weapon rather than a secret.

  • New Player Camera / Sound death effects for Main Story & The Extraction

  • Decluttered menu scripts for optimization purposes.

  • Fixed a small coding mistake with the Agile C's in The Extraction

  • Changed some textures

  • Fixed being able to attempt to "cheese" the Main Story M7 Gas Puzzle and getting yourself soft-locked

  • Disabled saving on the end fight of the Main Story.

  • Sometimes, we think someone's watching us. When in reality, it's just something in our own heads.

Are we paranoid? Or does something manipulate us to think in this way?

  • Reworked Map Traversing for Bots in Instant Action

  • Fixed all enemy bots in BTPA's VR sharing Ai code in Instant Action. (oops)

  • Added more ammo for the pistol in M1

  • Removed unnecessary collision from hanging Wires in M1

  • Added an extra health pack in the beginning of M2

Oh, forgot to mention. I'm lowering the price permanently from $8 to $6. FIGHT FOR HUMANITY. - Asterik Games.
