Gunnhildr changes
Note: If you prefer more stable builds and don't mind waiting, then you don't need to do anything but get excited for what is coming real soon.
What's the Beta Branch?
The Beta Branch is the most up-to-date version of the game, with all the newest fixes and changes! We hope you'll enjoy the process of polishing this game along with us.
Changes made in the Beta Branch will eventually make their way to the Release Branch, once there's been time to iron out any issues that come along with these changes.
To switch between game branches, right-click Gunnhildr in your Steam Library, click Properties, switch to the Betas tab, and then select the branch you want to use.
This update includes:
Changed: vertical launch pads now work even when the door they sometimes assist with is locked
Tutorial: Made a few points in the tutorial more difficult for the player to get confused about
Audio: Garmr boss music adjustment and wildfire effect spawns have their own sound
Fixes to Ragdolled enemies:
trying to speak while ragdolled and that being played from a previous location
their ragdolled bodies no longer leave bullet hole decals on things they impact
general uncommon/rare situations when ragdolled or transitioning between ragdoll
Fixed: some rare cases where enemies respond poorly to being locked in a room with the player. For instance, forgetting where they are or which room they are allowed to move into.
Fixed: enemies disappearing when carnage setting is low (because otherwise they'd have exploded)
- MenusRemoved some obsolete settings, repositioned some to improve visibility, and corrected some text
Improved: performance for exploding projectiles and explosions in general
Improved: performance of shared particle systems and visual effect stacks
Improved: footstep sounds to be more responsive and accurate
Improved: impact effects and wildfire visuals (various)
Improved: how the different quality settings actually affect quality
Improved: window dusty appearance while in the lowest quality setting
Fixed: A rare issue with the intro cinematic freezing things up
Fixed: pensieve UI being slow to respond in some rare circumstances
Fixed: a rare situation where the Berserker enemy in the tutorial would drop an item
We hope you enjoy, and as always, all feedback is welcomed wholeheartedly!
