Something is about to go boom.

Howdy, Deputies. The Guncrypt demo is coming soon to Steam. First two floors. Most mechanics unlocked. Infinite replayability. A small taste of the story that we promise makes sense in context.

changed· Panic Button — whenever you take damage, you automatically drop a bomb. Intended as a defensive tool. In practice, deputies have been using it to turn getting hit into an offensive strategy, since there are some of us who still can't teleport properly. We respect this.
added· Goblin Statue — every room, a special vase appears. Break it, get a bomb. The goblins filed a complaint about this one too. We have added it to the pile and then set it on fire.

Howdy, Deputies.

The Guncrypt demo is coming soon to Steam. First two floors. Most mechanics unlocked. Infinite replayability. A small taste of the story that we promise makes sense in context.

We will have more to say about that shortly.

For now, though, we would like to talk about bombs. We may have been forced to do so by the Pirate Gang, yes, but we still think that it is something every Deputy should know about.

Once you unlock the bombs (swing by Pirate Pete's to get more information on the matter), you will start every run with one. Just one. A single, beautiful, catastrophic decision waiting to happen.

Drop it and a ring expands around it: a polite countdown letting you and every goblin in the room know exactly what is about to occur. Everything inside that radius takes the full hit. Enemies, hazards, and certain doors that were never going to open any other way.

Yes. Some doors require bombs. We are not going to tell you which ones, though the pile of rubble blocking the entrances might be enough of a clue. Exploring is, after all, half the fun.

And bombs can also obtained through less honorable ways. Shady Crypt Smugglers. Explosive-obssessed collectors. And of course, through a few relics worth knowing about, if you can manage to get them:

· Panic Button — whenever you take damage, you automatically drop a bomb. Intended as a defensive tool. In practice, deputies have been using it to turn getting hit into an offensive strategy, since there are some of us who still can't teleport properly. We respect this.

· Goblin Statue — every room, a special vase appears. Break it, get a bomb. The goblins filed a complaint about this one too. We have added it to the pile and then set it on fire.

· Hidden Cache — blow up a campfire with a bomb and get a random relic in return. Yes, really. It's awesome like that.

Looking forward to blowing up some stuff? The demo is almost here. The crypt is almost open:

  • Wishlist GunCrypt (and Steam will tell you once it's ready).

  • Follow Halfbrick for updates.

  • Send this to your friend who likes fireworks a little too much.

Then come see the crypt for yourself.

(And remember, you have one bomb. Please use it responsibly. We are begging you.)
