Guncrypt changes
The Guncrypt demo just went into Valve's review queue. As soon as they sign off, it goes live right here on this page.
Guncrypt is a top-down roguelike where you play a deputy hunting down a petty wizard named Skulldarcula who stole every soul in town. The interesting part is the gun.
In most roguelike shooters, a bullet is just a bullet. In Guncrypt, every bullet is more like a card. They have abilities. They trigger off the bullets around them. They care about where they sit in your magazine. Building a run is building a deck. Yours starts at four slots, gets bigger as you find upgrades, and cycles one trigger pull at a time.
Three real bullets from the game:
Slot 1: Burst Toggle."If this is your first bullet, next bullet gets +1 Burst Fire."
Slot 2: Amplify."Next bullet gets +70 damage."
Slot 3: Triple Shot. Fires 3 shots in a burst.
That last slot now fires four shots, each carrying +70 damage. Reverse the load order, you get three normal shots. Same three bullets, completely different run.
Lots of bullets to find. Loads of relics that break each other's rules. A fusion system that lets you sacrifice bullets mid-run to forge stronger ones. Multiple unique floors and an NG+ curse mode after you beat it.
Yes, this is Halfbrick. The Fruit Ninja people. Guncrypt is a different kind of game from us and we've been heads-down on it for a long time.
Here's the new trailer. 30 seconds, mostly gameplay.
