Gun Up changes
Hello everyone!
Today I’m happy to share Version 0.9.9!
This update brings a major visual overhaul, 2 new maps, 3 unique enemy types, and many bug fixes.
Visual Style Change
One of the biggest changes in this update is the switch from the old 60-degree perspective to a full top-down style.
At first, I thought the 60-degree angle would look unique and interesting, but unfortunately it didn’t turn out the way I imagined. The animation system became difficult to expand, and creating sprite sheets for every 45-degree angle was manageable, but the final result still didn’t feel satisfying.
Because of that, I decided to move to a cleaner full top-down approach with simple directional rotation. I believe this gives the game a more classic and readable look. I want to try this style for a while, and if a better idea comes up in the future, I can always revisit it.
New Map: Shi no Rou
Inspired by prison environments, Shi no Rou is a smaller and more straightforward map. Because of its tight and direct layout, I decided to create a special enemy type specifically for this map.
I don’t want to spoil too much, but this entity is dark, dangerous, and relentless. Stay alert!
New Map: Depot des Morts
Depot des Morts is a mix of a container depot and a warehouse area. It is currently the biggest map in the game.
This map introduces 2 unique enemy types:
One is incredibly fast
One is sneaky
Be careful when exploring this area!
Alongside the new content, I’ve also fixed many bugs and made various improvements across the game.
