Repeated intro
Hey everyone!
What changed
- Gameplay
- Performance
I've been heads-down for the past two months making some serious improvements, and wanted to share what's new as we gear up for Early Access.
🎮New Features & Polish
There are a ton of changes across Career Mode, the file browser, Measure Master practice analysis, Set-list management, Stats screens, and more. New options, redesigned layouts, quality-of-life improvements throughout. I have it all documented and you'll discover these as you play - but that's not what I want to focus on here.
⚡Performance Overhaul - Finally, Smooth Streaming!
This is where my time went. Almost all of it. I had to stop playing the game entirely and spend two months doing nothing but profiling, testing, and optimizing frame-by-frame. Measuring milliseconds. Tracking down micro-stutters. Writing custom code when standard solutions weren't precise enough. It was painstaking, tedious work - but absolutely necessary. Streaming and recording gameplay needs to be smooth. Frame drops aren't acceptable.
What I tackled:
GPU rendering is now on by default and fully optimized
Eliminated micro-stutters through precise frame timing at the sub-millisecond level
Added Metal acceleration and triple buffering with proper GPU synchronization (Mac), optimized OpenGL buffer management (Windows)
Wrote custom C++ modules for precision timing that standard libraries couldn't match
Added shader pre-warming so notes don't hitch when they first appear
The result: Buttery smooth 60fps gameplay, even while running OBS and LUNA/UAD Apollo.
🚀What's Next
I'm in the final stretch before Early Access. This update represents a huge step forward in stability and polish. Keep the feedback coming - it directly shapes what I prioritize.
Thanks for being part of this journey.
More news soon!
