Guilds of Mountgate changes
Steam Next Fest Recap & The Road Ahead
The Steam Next Fest has come to an end.
First of all: thank you.
Over the past days, hundreds of players downloaded the Guilds of Mountgate demo, created characters, explored it's world, reported bugs, suggested improvements, and helped shape the future of the game.
What started as a small personal project has grown into something much bigger than I originally imagined. Seeing players discuss mechanics, share feedback has been one of the most rewarding experiences of this journey so far.
What happened during Next Fest?
Hundreds of adventurers joined the demo
A growing community formed around the game
Countless pieces of feedback were collected
Many quality-of-life improvements were already implemented
New content, quests, UI improvements, sounds, weather systems and gameplay features were added throughout the event
The amount of feedback received during Next Fest has been incredibly valuable and helped confirm something important:
Guilds of Mountgate is ready for the next step.
The Road to Early Access
The next major milestone is Early Access.
The goal over the coming weeks is not simply to add more content, but to strengthen the foundation of the game and prepare it for long-term development.
Some of the major objectives before Early Access include:
Expanding core skills and progression systems
Additional quests and world content
More travel events and exploration opportunities
New crafting recipes and professions
Additional sound effects and atmosphere systems
Further UI and quality-of-life improvements
Balancing, optimization and bug fixing
Early Access will mark the beginning of a much larger journey, not the finish line.
The Road to Version 1.0
While Early Access is the next destination, the long-term vision reaches much further.
Before Guilds of Mountgate can be considered a full Version 1.0 release, several major systems still need to be completed:
All planned core skills
Expanded combat systems
Additional regions and settlements
Deeper professions and economy mechanics
More quests, stories and world events
Expanded progression systems
Additional multiplayer and community features
Further worldbuilding and lore content
The objective is not simply to release Version 1.0 as quickly as possible, but to create a living world worth investing time in.
Looking Beyond 1.0
Even after Version 1.0, development does not necessarily stop.
Depending on how the community grows and how the project evolves, there are many possibilities for the future of Guilds of Mountgate.
Additional content updates, new regions, expanded gameplay systems and even more immersive versions of the game are all ideas that remain on the table.
For now, however, the focus remains clear:
Early Access.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
See you in Vellgar.
