Grimrain MMORPG changes
Windows and Linux staging build has been updated to v0.0.661 with the following changes:
Gameplay
Reduced XP requirements for gathering professions
Firewood Spawn times increased
Skill damage balancing
Items can now have skill requirements, e.g. Melee 10, Witchcraft 15
Quests can now have skill requirements
Enemies now show telegraph markers - frontal cones, and radius for impending attacks
Added abilities: Heal - Cauterise, Melee - Eviscerate, and Witchcraft - Weaken
Goughmead now gives Mana
Enemies in Caverns of Peril now deal poison damage
Added Lakeweed gatherable for crafting Poison removal potions
Caverns of Peril rewards two chests on successful completion, with loot shared among all participants
Enemies with several abilities will now choose to utilise more powerful attacks and heals as the fight progresses
Enemies can now have buffs, and will cast buffs on themselves (and each other)
Some abilities can now be cast on the ground, as opposed to a target enemy/player (or themselves).
Infected (and uninfected) moose now roam the Tunna Wood, east of Atten Lake in the Attenmoors.
Environmental
Attenmoors quarry zone
Caverns of Peril now has additional environmental hazards
Quarry Guardian sits at the entrance to Atten Quarry, shouting at would-be intruders
Graphical
Added forge particle effects
Increase scale of Attenmoors trees
Cave interior lighting for Atten Quarry has had its brightness, gamma, and contrast levels improved
Audio
Music - zones have their own music, sub-zones will also have a music change
Controls for Music volume and Loop
Bug fixes
Hunt Master can now no longer be killed
Brief summer time change issue - Non-GMT time zones would crash client
Zone notifications when switching zone would sometimes not be sent to client
Player feet no longer ever-so-slightly clip into the floor
Interface
Server selection now shows server version and status (offline or online)
Field of view slider
Character selection shows character equipment preview
Character in selection window can be rotated
Skills can now be tracked and will show as a progress bar under the action bars
Added Buff and Debuff archetypes such as Poisons, Bleeds, Enhancements, and Boons.
Skills are now shown grouped into their categories - Combat, Crafting, Gathering
Floating combat text now shows damage coloured according to damage type
Performance
Improved server-side stat calculation CPU usage
All dynamic objects on client are now loaded in the background, which should reduce login times
Reduced server-side cost of movement paths
Misc
Demo mode - skills capped at 15, social features and trading limited.
Game data authoring improvements, reducing development time, and allowing for self-hosted servers.
