Plushy greetings!

We're starting a series of dev diaries in anticipation of the new playtest. In each post, we'll reveal more and more details about the world of GRIMPS.

Evil in a cube

The Grimps that have overrun Earth are easy to spot - tiny plush cubes won't get lost in a crowd. Even so, each of these evil plushies differs from the others in many small details.

Each critter has a different fabric color, patches, and buttons. Moreover, they find accessories for themselves. They put cones, trash bags, and any other garbage they can find on their heads.

This simple yet extensive enemy generation system allows each little monster to be unique and unlike the others, without overloading the game. See for yourself:

In any size

The threat of the plush cube invasion should not be underestimated, as the horde is led by enormous Grimps.

Boss fights are a very important part of GRIMPS. Besides fending off the knitted threat, the player will also be able to absorb the abilities of defeated bosses.

It doesn't break, it tears

Simulating fabric in games is hard. Simulating enemies made of fabric is even harder. But we tried. Our Grimps are bouncing cubes of plush, and they react to the world in a very lively way: they bounce off the floor, tear from hits, and get knocked back from damage received.

We continue to work on the game and will soon share more news. The best ways to support the development are to add the game to your Wishlist and sign up for the playtest:
