Green Mist over Portland changes
Steam Next Fest has now come to an end, and I just want to say thank you.
It has been wonderful to see so many people playing the demo, discussing the story, streaming their playthroughs, and sharing their thoughts. The amount of support from players went far beyond what I expected, and I was also really happy to see the game included by several YouTubers and gaming outlets in their lists of favorite demos from the festival. That truly means a lot.
I’ve also been reading through the feedback carefully.
Many players were happy to see familiar faces such as Tweety, Stanley, and Lune return, and I’m glad that the back-and-forth between Delphine and Cynthia landed well. The new features, such as visiting and exploring locations, were also seen as strong additions to the experience.
A lot of players also seemed to enjoy how quickly the story gets moving, without a long introduction, as well as the way the mystery unfolds throughout the demo. I was especially pleased to see the reaction to the twist at the end.
Of course, there are still things that need work. The Cypher puzzle was a little more divisive, with some players really enjoying it and others not connecting with it as much. I’ll be refining it further before the final release to find the right balance. The UI also needs more polish so the overall experience feels as smooth and clear as possible.
As for the full game, development is now well underway.
The demo represents only a small part of the experience I’m building. The complete game will feature more than 200 events to uncover across multiple maps, with a cast of over 30 characters. These characters will be connected through the kind of character-first storytelling that fans of Red Pearls expect, set against a Cold War world full of espionage, secrets, and personal stories.
Over the coming months, my focus will be on expanding the story, refining the investigation systems, and incorporating the lessons learned from player feedback during the demo.
Thank you again for playing, sharing, and supporting the game. I’m very excited to keep building the full experience and show you more when the time is right.
