Green Mist over Portland changes
Today marks the official release of the Green Mist over Portland demo, and we are still incredibly excited to finally share it with everyone.
As mentioned in our previous announcement, this demo is not able to show too much of the story content from the full version. Within the limited scope of the demo, we chose to focus more on the puzzle-solving experience, while also giving you an early look at the important investigation and information-search mechanics that will play a key role in the full game.
That said, we want to reassure everyone that the story will remain one of the core focuses of the final game. We know very well what many of you are looking forward to.
In the few short hours since the demo went live, we have already received a lot of valuable feedback from players. Many of you have pointed out issues related to puzzle guidance, onboarding, and several bugs.
After reviewing your feedback, we immediately began working on fixes and adjustments for the demo. This upcoming patch includes several important changes to improve guidance, fix bugs, and prepare the demo for future updates.
However, during this process, we discovered a save file issue that may affect players who also own Red Pearls of Borneo. Because the next update will fix this issue, the game may no longer be able to locate some existing demo save files after the patch.
If you have Red Pearls of Borneo in your Steam library and have played the Green Mist over Portland demo, please export and back up your save file before updating. Otherwise, you may need to start over from “New Game” after the patch.
We are truly sorry for the inconvenience. This fix is necessary for future maintenance and updates, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.
How to Export Your Save
Launch the Green Mist over Portland demo.
Open the Settings menu.
Click Export Save. This will download a .sav file to your computer.
Keep that file somewhere safe.
After the update is released, you can restore your progress by opening Settings, clicking Import Save, and selecting the save file you exported.
Once again, we are very sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding and support!
