Update 4.3
Interface Convenience & Performance Improvements
Hello, residents! This is NINEHECTARE!!
This patch focuses on improving game loading times, fixing storage-related bugs, resolving Nik-01's subquest progression errors, and making a number of UI and control improvements.
We've prioritized the areas that caused the most friction during gameplay — particularly item information lookup, NPC interactions, and crafting controls.
Major Improvements
1. Game Launch Loading Time Improved
In the previous version, it took approximately 70 seconds to reach the title screen after launching the game.
In this patch, we cleaned up assets and separated bundle groups, reducing main memory usage by approximately 20% and cutting initial loading time nearly in half.
Loading time is now around 40 seconds, and we've also added a loading progress bar so you can see how far along the process is.
We're aware this still isn't ideal, and we'll continue to improve the data loading structure and eliminate unnecessary asset references going forward.
2. Item Info Tooltip Improved
Previously, it was difficult to immediately check where to obtain items needed for crafting or synthesis.
In this patch, we've added an Item Info window to all NPC interaction panels.
You can now check item details more easily across crafting, shop, and storage screens.
3. Crafting Controls Improved
The crafting interface has been updated to feel faster and more responsive.
Previously, crafting inputs in NPC interaction panels overlapped with other interaction inputs, making controls feel awkward.
To fix this, crafting-related interaction keys have been changed from Q/E to Z/X.
4. NPC Choice Navigation Improved
This was something that felt noticeably uncomfortable even during our own testing.
Previously, navigating between NPC interaction choices didn't flow naturally.
In this patch, we've reworked the choice navigation so that you can smoothly cycle through options with a single button.
Sections with lots of dialogue and interactions should feel a bit more comfortable now.
5. Placement Convenience Improved
When placing furniture or crops, players had to manually reposition items every time.
In this patch, we've added a feature that remembers the last placement position.
Placing the same type of object repeatedly should now be a much smoother experience.
Other Improvements
This patch also includes a number of other quality-of-life improvements alongside the main items above.
Improved shop buy/sell quantity controls
Added mouse button support to menu and shop panels
Improved inventory WASD controls
Added item tooltips to inventory
Improved Ku'kul — Tithe offering item consumption display
Bug Fixes
Storage Bug Fixed
Fixed an issue where the storage function in furniture was not working properly.
We've also improved the system so that Hagenith's storage and furniture storage now share the same inventory space.
Both storage types now use the same save data.
Nik-01 Subquest Bug Fixed
Fixed an issue where dying during Nik-01's subquest would incorrectly transport the player to Mei's subquest space.
There was also an issue where warp points and spawn points after Nik-01's nightmare spawn point were not correctly configured, causing confusion.
After this patch, selecting "Return to the Three Ways" will now correctly move the player to the spawn point.
We sincerely apologize to those who experienced issues in this section.
Other Bug Fixes
We've also fixed several UI display, stat value, and object-related bugs.
- Hagenith — AlchemyFixed a UI issue where crafting appeared disabled even when it was available
- Ku'kul — Hunter's PathFixed a UI issue where growth was displayed incorrectly even when growth was available
- Nik-01 — CyberwareFixed a mismatch between displayed buff values and actual applied values
- Housing — BuffsFixed a mismatch between displayed buff values and actual applied values
Fixed an issue where attacking certain tree objects caused them to shift down by one tile.
Closing
This patch focused on reducing friction in areas players encounter frequently — loading times, item information, crafting controls, and NPC navigation.
There's still more work to be done, but we'll continue to refine and improve Gray Haven based on the feedback you share with us.
NINEHECTARE is always working to make the game better. Thank you.
