Gray Haven : Witch's Garden changes
Notice on 4.0 Update and Artbook Release Delay
Hello, residents. This is NINEHECTARE.
First of all, we sincerely apologize for the delay in the promised 4.0 update and the release of the artbook.
We expect the release to be delayed by about 1 to 2 weeks. The specific reasons are as follows.
Artbook Release Delay (Steam Review Process)
The artbook is currently under additional review by Steam due to content maturity (suggestive material). We've been asked to revise some screenshots and resubmit them for approval.
Since the original review took about a week, we expect that with the necessary revisions, the approval will likely be completed sometime next week.
4.0 Update Delay (December 4 KST)
The 4.0 update has also been delayed.
During the implementation of the "Paradise Lost" system, we encountered numerous bugs caused by conflicts with the legacy "nightmare of the past" (spaghetti code).
In order to ensure a stable gameplay experience and better balancing, we have decided to officially release the 4.0 update on December 3 (KST: December 4).
However, for those who are eagerly waiting, we will open access to the 4.0 update via Beta Branch on Friday, November 21.
(Please note: As this is a beta version, there may be bugs or balance issues.)
Major Changes in 4.0 Update
Following our previous notice, here is a more detailed overview of the key changes in the 4.0 update.
Dungeon Overhaul
- Improved existing mapsWe've made significant enhancements to the overall artwork and lighting, and increased prop density for a more immersive environment.
New "Schema" maps added: The previously lore-only "Schema" is now fully implemented. These maps can appear randomly during dungeon runs when defeating monsters. They feature unique mechanics such as traps, time limits, and powerful bosses. Clearing them rewards you with powerful Relics.
Item Balance Rework
The former "accessory" category has been rebranded as "Relics".
You can now preview which Relics will appear in a dungeon before entering it.
Failing a "Nightmare Exploration" will result in losing some of the Relics you acquired. Lost Relics can be repurchased from Dayna’s shop.
Altar System Rework
You can now choose an altar every time you enter a dungeon.
Instead of simple stat boosts, new altar effects allow you to exchange souls for more revives or guarantee powerful Relics upon clearing a dungeon.
New Romance Cutscenes and Boss
We’ve added a new cyber-assassin-themed boss that appears in Schemas. Defeating them will trigger an H-scene!
Going forward, we plan to continuously release win and lose cutscenes for boss fights.
Other Fixes (UX/UI Improvements)
Shop UI Rework: We’ve unified the separate Buy/Sell interfaces into a single streamlined UI for better convenience.
UI Hiding and Photo Mode Key Fixes: We've received many reports about UI disappearing when pressing 'G' (UI toggle) or 'P' (photo mode). This was due to a lack of proper keybinding guidance. We will improve the clarity and usability of this feature.
Regarding the Delay...
Exactly one year ago, we rushed our release and faced a major setback.
Determined not to repeat that mistake, we’ve decided to take more time and ensure higher quality content.
To all residents patiently awaiting the 4.0 patch — we sincerely apologize once again. We’ll return with better and more exciting content.
Thank you so much for always supporting our game.
