Repeated intro
Hello, dear inhabitants of this Gloomy Juncture,

changedGame of the Year & Reveal of the Year - Mumbling SpeechWinning Reveal of the Year was incredible, a signal that all my sacrifices amount to something recognized by my peers. But the shock of winning Game of the Year among such titles as Arc Seed , Europa and Exophobia was indescribable. Standing on that stage for the second time that night, I was caught in a surreal moment suspended between vomit and pure joy - I don't remember a single thing about what I said.
changedTencent GWB Game Awards 2024The excitement didn’t end there. Just a week later, on November 22, Gloomy Juncture was a finalist at the Tencent GWB Game Awards 2024, in Wuhan, China. 🕹️ GWB stands for "Games Without Borders" The competition is an event to find "upcoming games that shine above the rest. It's not about the size of the team or budget – it's about passion, quality and creativity". I want to make a shoutout to Tencent Games for including a Small Teams (3 or less core members) category. As a 100% solo developer, it's not always easy to fit, and while it's starting to get challenging for indies to guarantee fairness in these events, having a dedicated space for small teams is an excellent step in the right direction.
changedSmall Teams Bronze AwardOut of 7,400+ global submissions, including 570+ international entries, being selected as a finalist was already a huge honor, but to see my work recognized with an Award felt like something completely out of this world... I can't find words to express my gratitude. Sharing the stage with remarkable games like Balatro , Mullet Mad Jack , Freaked Fleapit , and Paper Trail was really humbling and inspiring.
addedA Bittersweet TasteThe creative journey is filled with insecurities and can be a lonesome one, and as solo dev doing everything alone and still pouring my heart and soul into this work of passion, these recognitions mean the world to me and really fuel my energy for the difficult road ahead. At same time, I cant help but to feel a bittersweet taste... Because to attend these events and organize all the logistics I need to pause game development. So I hope these accolades help Gloomy Juncture reach more players and overcome the budget limitations I have for marketing. I hope you'll understand the lack of content this month. Please stay tuned for new developments and thank you so much for your support during this journey. Thanks, Filipe

📢 Prestigious New Accolades
Steam post image Today, I have no game updates, but wanted to share some amazing news! Over the past couple weeks, Gloomy Juncture has been recognized with these incredible honors: 🏆 Game of the Year Winner at Spotlight Awards'24 🏆 Reveal of the Year Winner at Spotlight Awards'24 🏆 Best Game From Portugal Nominee at DevGAMM Awards 2024 🏆 Small Teams Bronze Award Winner at Tencent GWB Game Awards 24
DevGAMM Lisbon 24 & Spotlight Awards'24
This journey began with Gloomy Juncture being selected to showcase at DevGAMM Lisbon, a great milestone for the project. With two award ceremonies — Spotlight Awards on the 14th and DevGAMM Awards on the 15th — it was really something to receive three major honors in just two days. The first public showcase of Gloomy Juncture was also at DevGAMM, one year ago during Indie X. So, to return one year later and receive these recognitions felt truly surreal. Repping Sunset Hills
At DevGAMM, I also had the honor of repping Sunset Hills alongside Gloomy Juncture. It was an honor to support a studio that treats games as art first, and I was thrilled to receive the Excellence in Visual Art Award in their name. Steam post image
