Who is Aquila Interactive?

Aquila Interactive is a studio headquartered in London and Hong Kong, focused on creating immersive and complex strategy games. The growing team is made up of talented and experienced developers and publishers from around the world, each united by a passion for innovation and a drive to elevate PC gaming.

Who is Hooded Horse?

Hooded Horse is an independent publisher focused on strategy, simulation, and tactical games. Since their founding, their portfolio has grown to over 40 titles, including big hits such as Manor Lords, Against the Storm, and 9 Kings.

What is a Publisher?

Publishers support game developers in many ways, including funding, marketing, and assistance in reaching broader audiences. For example, partnering with Hooded Horse has allowed us to localize the game into more languages, meaning we can reach more industrialists.

Why is Aquila Interactive working with Hooded Horse?

Partnering with Hooded Horse will gild the road ahead for Gilded Destiny, helping our development team realize the game we set out to create. Their support will elevate the overall quality of the game and ensure that our creative vision is conveyed clearly to a wider audience.

What does this mean for Gilded Destiny's timeline?

If anything, this will help strengthen the development of Gilded Destiny and ensure that we can reach our targets on time and to the highest quality.

When is Gilded Destiny being released?

We are currently in the Alpha phase of Gilded Destiny's development, and there is still no release date decided for the full game. Please follow our social channels for any future updates around the release.

When will the Gilded Destiny “Alpha” release?

The Alpha will be exclusive to Kickstarter and Modian backers, who have already been contacted.

Will there be another Kickstarter Campaign?

At this time, there are no plans for another Kickstarter Campaign.

Is there another way to pledge or join the closed Alpha/Beta?

Not at this time, but we would love to have you join our community and be a part of the journey with us.

Where can I play Gilded Destiny?

Gilded Destiny will launch on Steam.

What price will Gilded Destiny be on launch?

The price is still TBD.

Where can I pre-order Gilded Destiny?

There are no pre-orders for Gilded Destiny, but you can always Wishlist on Steam.

Will I be able to Mod Gilded Destiny?

Yes! Gilded Destiny being moddable has always been part of the plan; we will have mod support from day 1. We value our community's creations and aim to accommodate as much as possible.

Do you have a roadmap for development?

Yes, we regularly send out updates to our channels on our roadmaps. You can find our most recent roadmap for the Alpha on Steam.

Do you have developer diaries?

Yes, we post regular developer diaries on our YouTube and Steam.

What year is Gilded Destiny set in?

Gilded Destiny is set in the 1800s, depicting the transformative era of the Industrial Revolution.

What nations can I play as in Gilded Destiny?

You can play as any nation from the time period, such as Prussia, France, and the United Kingdom.

What languages are available in Gilded Destiny?

The current aim is to localize the game from English into German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.

What does "Gilded" mean?

For something to be covered in gold, or a representation of wealth and privilege. Which reflects our aim, for you to work towards a prosperous destiny. We originally conceived of the name "Gilded Destiny" by combining the concepts of the "Gilded Age" and "Manifest Destiny." What if instead of Gilded Destiny, our game was called "Manifest Age!?"

What is a "Grand Strategy Game"?

GSG's focus on the macromanagement of a nation or empire; this includes societal transformation, industrialization, the economy, warfare, and diplomacy. This allows players to influence events through long-term decisions.

What makes Gilded Destiny different from other grand strategy games?

All of us at Aquila Interactive are fans and avid players of historical grand strategy games. We have certainly drawn some inspiration from games currently on the market, some of which even cover a similar time period. However, our main focus is to iterate upon what GSG players know and love about current games, and deliver an entirely new experience—on a globe, easy modding with a built-in editor, and of course, tactical warfare with direct control over military units.
