ghostpia Season One changes
We have some very good news today. ghostpia: Season One is getting a physical release for Nintendo Switch™ on March 13th, 2025!
The game itself is the same as in the digital versions for both Nintendo Switch™ and Steam, but, as it's the first time ghostpia is released in a physical format, we've included some nice extras in the first edition, so that people who have already played the game can enjoy it too. If you're interested, you can preorder it right now!
New Illustrated Three-Fold cover
With the physical version of the game, you'll get a three-fold cover inspired by that unforgettable scene in chapter two. It's a wonderful, never-before-seen illustration by the game's illustrator, Yamamoto Suzume.
Ghost Secret Documents - Chapter: Me and Chapter: Night
We're also including a special double pamphlet: Ghost Secret Documents. You can store this in the aforementioned three-fold cover alongside the game itself.
The first part of the pamphlet is "Chapter: Night", an artbook made of beautiful illustrations showcasing ghostpia's history.
The second part includes "ghostpia: Season NaN", the pilot version of the game's scenario that we wrote before ever starting on the ghostpia's development, and "Chapter: Me", a special companion story that takes place after the events of chapter five and shows a day in the life Sayoko.
Not to toot our own horn, but they're both pretty good. They'd make a great addition to your ghostpia collection.
On the cover of Chapter: Me, you'll find a secret URL and a secret password that will bring you to a special page with more bonuses: downloadable illustrations and a web version of Chapter: Me. Unfortunately, because of time constraints, the physical version of the pamphlet will only be available in Japanese. We're talking with the publisher to at least have the web version translated. (If, for some reason, that doesn't work out... you could at least run the Japanese web version through your browser's automatic translation, we guess?)
As for all our overseas fan, there are a few import shops that will sell the game outside of Japan. We know it's not ideal, but we hope that, if you want this physical version, you'll be able to get it like that.
Oh, apart from all that, you'll also get a film-reel-style translucent bookmark as a nifty bonus!
Depending on the store, you may also receive some extra preorder bonuses. Check out the special Nintendo Switch™ physical version page for more details.
ghostpia @ Akihabara!
Lastly, we'd like to share our excitement in seeing ghostpia commercials out in the wild for the game's physical release. One was even broadcast on the huge screen in front of Akihabara station—Akihabara being kind of a sacred town for Japanese entertainment content.
Once we find more commercials in the wild, we'll probably post them on our official X account. So, please follow us there!
Now that we're done with the news, let us end this by thanking all of you once again for all the support you've shown for our little team and ghostpia. -Chosuido
