addedMississippi, Alabama, and VirginiaI didn't add Virginia initially because I felt it was too Northern, but that's silly so I added it. And I thought that since Mississippi and Alabama had Republican governors, which in those states actually have power over the redistricting process (unlike in North Carolina), they shouldn't be included. But Democrats had complete control of redistricting, so I added them as well.

changedMississippi, Alabama, and VirginiaThe update should be out in maybe 3-5 days . I already have all these features in place, I just want to improve performance when opening states. I also need to play through the whole game again once I have the build ready.
addedMississippi, Alabama, and VirginiaAfter 1.1 , my immediate concern is adding the 8 other states to Sandbox Mode, then adding other statewide elections from the period, allowing people to change the amount of districts, with presets for state legislatures. Then the priority will be usability.
changedMississippi, Alabama, and VirginiaThank you for the positive reviews, and to everyone that has purchased. I would ask that if you play the game you continue to relay your feedback somehow! I read all of it though I don't respond (I suppose I will respond by identifying and implementing solutions to issues that people bring up).

I have been working on 1.1, it contains a few major things (along with minor changes): Save/Load, a Sandbox Mode with ALL 42 US states, and the addition of Mississippi, Alabama, and Virginia to the "Story Mode."

Save/Load

Self-explanatory.

Sandbox Mode

You have access to most of the states with their presidential election results for 1976-1992. There's no objectives or anything; just play around with it.

Small issues exist in some of the 42 states that are in Sandbox Mode. As pictured, Arizona does not have any data for La Paz county for presidential elections in 1980 and 1976. This is because the county was formed in 1983, so their votes are all in Yuma, directly below it.

Mississippi, Alabama, and Virginia

These states are now in the "Story Mode."

I didn't add Virginia initially because I felt it was too Northern, but that's silly so I added it. And I thought that since Mississippi and Alabama had Republican governors, which in those states actually have power over the redistricting process (unlike in North Carolina), they shouldn't be included. But Democrats had complete control of redistricting, so I added them as well.

Small Changes coming in 1.1

  • You can zoom into big states like Texas all the way.

  • There's a little settings menu with the ability to go into windowed mode, or change volume.

  • Hovering has been made darker.

  • The labels for each district (e.g., 6, 7, 9, 10, 21) now appear a bit easier for little urban districts, they didn't as easily before because of rounding errors with the areas of small tracts.

  • Other things that I have forgotten about at this moment.

The update should be out in maybe 3-5 days. I already have all these features in place, I just want to improve performance when opening states. I also need to play through the whole game again once I have the build ready.

After 1.1, my immediate concern is adding the 8 other states to Sandbox Mode, then adding other statewide elections from the period, allowing people to change the amount of districts, with presets for state legislatures. Then the priority will be usability.

1.2, on the other hand, will be an expansion of more mechanically interesting content, another "Story Mode" type deal, probably one where you play as the Republicans in 2010.

Thank you for the positive reviews, and to everyone that has purchased. I would ask that if you play the game you continue to relay your feedback somehow! I read all of it though I don't respond (I suppose I will respond by identifying and implementing solutions to issues that people bring up).
