addedCurrent ProgressIf anyone has played the current version, you’ll notice the differences between the old Aldebaran vs new. The lack of a cast bar, for example, allows for faster movement of the boss, and the attacks themselves give the player more openings, as she is no longer a flyer that goes to impossible locations. Of course, she is still a little tanky, and Gastova here is slightly underlevelled thanks to us constantly shifting the EXP requirements.
changedCurrent ProgressThe major thing we’ve been tweaking here is the damage scaling, the window to hit the boss, the window to make dodges, etc, and just ways to make the fight fair. These things require us to edit, test, edit, test…successively. She still needs a few tweaks here, too!
changedCurrent ProgressContent-wise, the endgame patch is as ready as it’ll be (except for several missing sound effects and pending improvements on visual effects, but those have been warned previously as missing content for this patch), but we still need to make sure the bosses and the stages at large feel good enough to play. Our tweaks to levels and experience are almost at a perfect stage. We just need to see if they hold up well in the endgame areas.
changedCurrent ProgressWe also took the time to balance out the summons. Mimi was previously appalling. Sadly, she got the opposite effect and became so ridiculously OP that she broke an entire Ruby Temple run a couple of weeks ago, so we’re nerfing her again. The others have had varied degrees of success.

Hello, Everyone!

Happy New Year, and I hope you guys have enjoyed the festivities!

Recently, we’ve been discussing within the community posts about the postponement of the Endgame Patch Early Access build’s release and the reasons why that happened. In this post, we’ll give out some more information for the community at large and what to expect in the coming days.

Current Progress

First, let’s watch this video of Aldebaran's Boss Fight (Spoilers):

The video (sadly) ends on a game over, which demonstrates that it still needs a little bit of tweaking.

If anyone has played the current version, you’ll notice the differences between the old Aldebaran vs new.

The major thing we’ve been tweaking here is the damage scaling, the window to hit the boss, the window to make dodges, etc, and just ways to make the fight fair. These things require us to edit, test, edit, test…successively. She still needs a few tweaks here, too!

Content-wise, the endgame patch is as ready as it’ll be (except for several missing sound effects and pending improvements on visual effects, but those have been warned previously as missing content for this patch), but we still need to make sure the bosses and the stages at large feel good enough to play. Our tweaks to levels and experience are almost at a perfect stage. We just need to see if they hold up well in the endgame areas.

We’re currently running our checks in the final areas of the game, and all the previous areas, including the Astral Temple, are verified as fully playable and balanced.

We also took the time to balance out the summons. Mimi was previously appalling. Sadly, she got the opposite effect and became so ridiculously OP that she broke an entire Ruby Temple run a couple of weeks ago, so we’re nerfing her again. The others have had varied degrees of success.

Lastly, we’re still not ready to launch the patch, and for that inconvenience, we apologize once more. That being said, we’ll return here next week to relay more news. On the off chance that we finish this earlier than that, then we’ll merely drop the update on Steam and post a patch notes with details. If not, you'll guys will hear more from us soon.

We recognize this has been quite the messy and less-than-ideal process, but we also believe it’s best to be transparent during this time, even if it’s not a picture-perfect look. We’ll do what we can to just finish this as soon as possible without making it a half-baked update.

That’s it from us today, guys. Thank you so much for the support and kindness, as usual. You guys are what drive us to finish this game despite all the adversity we encounter every day!

Stay safe, and until next time!
