Galactic Mining Corp - Launch Week Update

Oh my days, what a launch week this has been! Thank you all so much for the enormous love you have shown for Galactic Mining Corp! On Tuesday, the game launched on Steam and the response has truly blown me away. Wow.

Galactic Mining Corp made it onto Steam's front page in "New and Trending" (and it's still there), but now also currently appears in the "Community Recommended" carousel too. The game has surpassed even my wildest expectations with more than ten times even my most optimistic sales estimates (this in addition to the huge backing the game got on Kickstarter). Over the last few days, the Steam stats have shown over a thousand concurrent players in the game during peak hours in the United States. It's incredible to see so many of you getting into the game.

I want to highlight the wonderful feedback from players. Not only have I read some wonderful reviews, but I am also grateful for the supportive messages received over Discord and Twitter - you lot are breathtaking. There are now over 150 reviews and Galactic Mining Corp's review summary is marked as "Very Positive". For those of you who followed the development on Twitch or backed the Kickstarter, you will know that the game has been refined and polished with the extra time afforded by the crowdfunding. From the feedback I have seen, it was totally worth it, so thank you all again.

As with any software release, a few bugs and edge cases have been identified by players, along with a number of feature requests and suggestions. The first Galactic Mining Corp patch was issued on Thursday and I will continue to work day and night to triage, prioritise and fix the items on the list.
