Survivors of the Frost,

As the 1920s Anatolian winter tightens its grip, the illusion of simple survival is over. Until now, gathering wood and hunting for food were just numbers on a screen. Today, we are introducing a massive update that brings a harsh new reality to Frostveil: The people of your village are no longer just a single number. Here is what’s new in The Weight of Survival Update:

📜 The Village Task Board (New UI) You are the head of the village, and every morning starts with a heavy burden. We have added a brand-new Task Board interface where you must manually assign your population to three key areas: Hunt, Gather, or Rest. Note: The consequences of your assignments will unfold at the end of the day.

⚖️ Efficiency & Vulnerability Not everyone is suited for the freezing wilderness.

  • Men are your most capable and efficient hunters and gatherers.

  • The women can help, but their yield is lower, and they are highly susceptible to the biting cold.

  • Children bring very little resources, but in desperate times, every piece of wood counts.

💀 Cruel Consequences: Morale, Sickness, and Death The wilderness is unforgiving. If you send your people out to gather wood, they will get sick from the cold. If you send them to hunt, they might not come back.

  • Protect the Innocent: Keeping children resting by the fire boosts the village's morale.

  • Desperate Measures: Forcing children to hunt will severely damage the village's morale and carries a tragically high risk of death.

  • Healing: Those assigned to "Rest" have a chance to recover from sickness.

Finding the balance between freezing to death, starving, or losing your humanity is entirely up to you.

🛠️ Balancing & Fixes

  • Complete overhaul of the daily resource consumption math.

  • Adjusted the UI layout for better readability on different screen sizes (no more elements slipping out of frames!).

  • Visual polish added to the new assignment menus.

Will you be a compassionate leader who starves, or a ruthless survivor who lives? The choice is yours.
