Frosthaven 1.0 Launches October 15, 2026!

THE COMPLETE 1.0 VERSION OF FROSTHAVEN LAUNCHES ON OCTOBER 15, 2026

We're excited to announce that Frosthaven will soon leave Early Access, as we’ll be releasing the full 1.0 version of the game on October 15, 2026! We’re thrilled that in just a few months, you will be able to get the complete digital adaptation of Cephalofair Games’ incredible board game universe. The 1.0 release will be the most complete, polished, and immersive way to experience this iconic, dark fantasy tactical RPG digitally.

Below is an overview of what you can expect from Frosthaven’s 1.0 release on October 15!

• Complete Story Campaign – Experience the full Frosthaven campaign from the tabletop board game, including the climactic final chapter.

• Improved Onboarding – Learn Frosthaven’s complex systems and mechanics with more ease through the digital-only “Road to Frosthaven” introduction, tutorial, and UI displays.

• All 17 Playable Heroes – Build your party from Frosthaven’s complete roster of heroes, with the final hero joining the game at launch.

• Standalone Game Demo – New adventurers can try Frosthaven before purchasing through a standalone demo experience through the Road to Frosthaven campaign.

• Enhanced Co-Op Play – Team up with friends through improved multiplayer systems and networking enhancements.

• House Rules – Tailor playthroughs with customizable House Rules, allowing players to adjust gameplay that will suit their preferred playstyle.

• Opening Cinematic – Begin the journey into Frosthaven with a brand-new cinematic introduction that sets the stage for the challenges ahead in the Frozen North.

• Hero Unlock Videos – Celebrate each new hero discovery with dedicated unlockable videos that introduce each hero and unique playstyle.

• Fully Implemented Codex – Explore Frosthaven’s lore, characters, creatures, biomes, and more through a comprehensive in-game Codex. No note-taking required!

• All Content from Early Access Updates – Along with the slew of new content that the 1.0 version of the game will bring, it’ll also include all the content and improvements from previous updates – including major updates -- introduced throughout the game’s time in Early Access

FAQ – 1.0 Release Edition

To wrap things up, some of you might have questions on what it means for the game to leave Early Access and for the 1.0 version to be released -- don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! See below.

Will I need to buy the game again if I already bought the Early Access version?

Nope! If you already own the digital version of Frosthaven, it won't disappear from your library at launch - you will simply be prompted to download an update which will upgrade your Early Access version to the full 1.0 version.

Will my Early Access save(s) be compatible with the 1.0 version?

Yes, they will be!

Should I start a new campaign when the game’s 1.0 version is avaialble?

Completely up to you – it's optional! We do recommend starting a new campaign, just so you can get the full Frosthaven 1.0 version experience. However, if you prefer to continue to play the campaign or even campaigns you’ve been playing, then of course feel free to continue making progress in your current campaign(s) 😊

How content complete will be the game at 1.0 launch?

On October 15, 2026, Frosthaven will be fully content complete! It’ll have a slew of new content and have all the content we’ve introduced throughout Early Access – so you’ll have the most complete and polished version of the game.

Can we expect further updates after the game’s 1.0 launch?

Following the 1.0 release, we’ll continue patching and supporting the game based on your feedback, along with the feedback we get from new players. We look forward to hearing your thoughts on the 1.0 version when it’s available!

Will the 1.0 version be priced differently compared to the current Early Access price of the game?

We haven’t finalized pricing just yet for the 1.0 version of the game. Whie the game continues to be in Early Access, we’ll continue offering it at a lower price and then increase the price once the full version is available and of great quality.
