300 wishlists! After 5.5 months of development, I gained 300 wishlists. Thanks to all wishlisters! A rather large portion of that came during the last 5 days when I released a new trailer, so check that out!

changedRobotsI refined the health system. Previously, there were 4 different components, each with their own health, which was too UI-heavy and complex. Wasn't happy at all so I went back to a simple 1-Health-bar system. The subsystems still exist and can be damaged. But instead of a separate health bar they are now simply damaged or not.
addedCrew ManagementAdded a few more traits: Generator specialist: 10% bonus generator output when assigned to the generator station Robot Engineer: 15% faster on performing jobs in the robot bay
changedCombatChanged the ranged monster to a different model since I didn't like this weird scorpion...

Sadly, I also got a cold and couldn't work for a few days so there aren't as many updates as I'd like there to be...

Changes:

Robots

  • I refined the health system. Previously, there were 4 different components, each with their own health, which was too UI-heavy and complex. Wasn't happy at all so I went back to a simple 1-Health-bar system. The subsystems still exist and can be damaged. But instead of a separate health bar they are now simply damaged or not.

  • Job queue now allows to delete and reorder existing jobs.

  • Energy Refill can be individually set for each robot. Changes of these settings create a job, that needs to be performed by a crew member before becoming active.

Crew Management

  • Eating and sleeping were set at the start of the day, which wasn't a good idea as it takes away too much control. Now, you can send each character to sleep or to eat separately.

  • Added a few more traits:

    • Generator specialist: 10% bonus generator output when assigned to the generator station

    • Robot Engineer: 15% faster on performing jobs in the robot bay

Combat

  • Changed the ranged monster to a different model since I didn't like this weird scorpion...

  • New monster designs (only partly implemented):

    • 2nd ranged monster that buffs surrounding monsters (screenshot)

    • Artillery monster (maybe?)

  • Defender ability: Shield Reload

  • Ammunition system:

    • Manual reload ability

    • Automatic reload when ammo is depleted

  • Changed the vision drone (removes Fog of War) to a stationary scanner with a fancy animation (screenshot)

Next steps:

My main goal now is to finally have an alpha build, which (SURPRISINGLY!) takes a long time, if I keep adding new stuff to the game.

Therefore, I will add the most important functionalities, which include:

  • Research

  • Basic Main menu

  • Main goal (Basic story of the game)
