changedYesterday's update was a smaller one, mostly focusing on improving balancing. There were some bug fixes as well of course, but the primary focus was on improving Allied performance during the TD and other set piece sections.
addedWe felt that allies were performing well at level 1, but were losing effectiveness at levels 2 and 3 so halfway through the game were not pulling their weight. In response, we have buffed the health of all 6 allies at levels 2 and 3, but also put in effort to differentiate their roles. Our feedback also indicated that they all felt too samey and we have tried to ensure that the heavy armoured Paladin ally does not feel the same as the cloth wearing Priest ally. That they have different things that they are good at, and that you would be able to feel that difference while playing. Further, allies now have hit reaction immunity, as they were often being swarmed by enemies and attacking less than planned for. All in all, significant buffs and more characterization!

The other major fix is solving a bunch of gamepad input related issues. These had a myriad of causes and uncovering most of them took much longer than anticipated.

Other bug fixes include:

  • Fixed an issue where enemies killed while frozen solid would stay frozen solid when the same enemy type would spawn in later in the same level

  • Fixed an issue in the Keepsake with Scaevia

  • Fixed interact boxes for dialogue with Alaina and MIles

  • Increased Raghbir's health during a set piece as he was dying frustratingly too easily

  • Fixed issues with the mirror light puzzles resetting if the player walked away too far

  • Fixed some crash issues for the Quest UI

  • Fixed an issue with the navigation for the Embassy with Orcs quest not directing the player to Scaeva

  • Fixed an issue with the Goblin Bomber crashing the game

  • Fixed some small issues with the Focused Mercy levels 2 and 3 skills

We continue to work on bug fixes and balancing while mostly focusing on the roguelite mode, which should be available August at the latest.
