its been a while since the last patch unfortunately i have been busy with a lot of things and also developing the game.

so in this patch i think the game is closing in on being finally somewhat playable

the worker system and goap system is finally done. it took a really long time since i added extra actions but also since its a bit of a complex system and requires a lot of optimization and attention to detail but now it runs really smoothly with no hiccup or bugs and the workers can work pretty autonomously. you hand them a building task and they build. you tell them to farm and they farm etc.

my inspiration came from playing bellwright originally and thats a great game but after 20 hours or so i noticed the ai starting to get really laggy and it would just stop doing tasks etc so i wanted to make my own system, and i think i can say im getting there:

its fun to see the idea i had and prototyped 1.5 years ago finally coming alive in a fully fledged game. i didnt expect that but here we are.

so patch notes.

Theres almost 2 months of work in here so i cant list all the things i have implemented to fixed since theres a lot (whew) but ill list the most important ones:

Updated the graphics:

new:

old:

worker system:

-added cooking

-added hunting

-added farming

-added hauling

-added resting / sleeping

-fixed mining so it works

-fixed crafting bugs

player:

fixed a bug where the player would fall off small slopes

UI:

-added tooltip so you can see the items

-added speaker name to the dialogue box

-adjusted dialogue ui

World:

-fixed a bug where quest marker wouldnt show

Combat

Dialogue:

updated the story and dialogue to be more immersive with the world, as i got complaints it was lazy

Models:

a furnace: used to smelt ores; tin ores, copper ores and iron ores ( for now might add more later )

workbench: used to craft tools and basic armor on and weaponsSteam post image

tools:

added new tools

a hammer: used to build

the axe used to chop wood

pickaxe for mining

a 2h great sword

armor:

a cloth tunic:

The biggest milestone is that the workers are fully autonomous now, without bugs, lag or hiccup :) they should be able to smoothly operate. If you assign them to chopping wood they will chop wood, then you swap over to cooking and they will do it. Then you can make them mine, farm or harvest etc and it all just works hah. it feels surreal that its finally working
