FREE DUNK changes
Less than two months after the first test concluded, we're back on the court, fueled by your anticipation and feedback. On June 18, 2025, at 7:00 PM PDT (UTC-7), FREE DUNK CBT2 is officially set to begin! This isn't just a technical test; it's the next stop in our collective journey to refine our dream. We firmly believe: as long as you don't give up, the final whistle will never blow. "Goal: Over the Top" — This isn't just FREE DUNK's slogan, but also our unwavering belief in the game.
FREE DUNK is more than just a basketball game; it's a way to express freedom, a tribute to the love of basketball, and a vision we've always strived to achieve — allowing every basketball lover to own their own team, their own court, and a stage where they can continuously grow, challenge themselves, and surpass their limits. We hope this becomes a place that every basketball player can call "my court."In this test, we're bringing five major core updates: a brand-new Team Management system, arcade mode revolution, upgraded custom match, and optimized interactive experience. Every change is our response after carefully listening to your feedback.
Team System Alpha Version: The Era of Player "Team" Development Begins
Basketball has never been a solo battle. A true "team" is more than just a collection of players; it's a vibrant, characterful, and stylistic fighting unit. With the Team Management System (Alpha) introduced in this update, you will become the architect of your own squad.
Freely Assemble Team Lineups
You can freely assign your owned players into multiple team lineups. - Initially, a maximum of three team lineups will be available, with more to be unlocked as your team's level increases in the future.
Team Experience and Level
Every match played with a team lineup will accumulate experience for your team. - Increasing your team's level will unlock more lineup slots and boost your overall team's combat power cap
Tactical Personalization: Badge System
A new "Team Badge" system has been added. Badges are divided into three categories: Offense, Organization, and Defense, each representing a core dimension of team tactics. - Each team lineup can have an independent badge configuration, allowing you to choose different badge combinations to create your unique playstyle. - Badges come in different qualities and levels, and can be gradually upgraded by accumulating resources from team matches. This means you can have a powerful defensive team centered around "iron-blooded rebounding," or you can build a fast, small lineup focused on "fast break transitions and open three-pointers." You will embody the dual role of "Coach + Agent," defining the construction, coordination, and growth direction of your entire team.
Four Major Arcade Mode Updates: One Step at a Time, Forge Superstars
The PVE
system has always been a crucial part of FREE DUNK that we highly value. In our hearts, every "superstar" should be forged through continuous, incremental effort and training. FREE DUNK's Arcade Mode is your proving ground for honing these "superstars." This updated Arcade Mode will transform every ounce of your effort and every drop of sweat into clear records and achievements.
1、Leaderboard System Goes Live: Make Every Training Session Valuable
Introducing both a "All Player Leaderboard" and "Individual Player Leaderboards," recording players' clear scores, times, data, and more across various metrics. - Whether you're an all-rounder or a specialist with a particular player, you can leave your mark on the rankings. - Leaderboards will refresh hourly and settle quarterly, with TOP players receiving rewards like avatar frames, exclusive titles, and commemorative badges.
2、Honor System Expansion: Growth Trajectory at a Glance
Player-Exclusive Honors: Unlock "Proficiency" and "Signature Move" medals after reaching a certain usage frequency with a player. - Seasonal Honor Titles: Titles such as "Block King," "Assist King," and "Rebound King" will gradually unlock as you accumulate stats. - Extreme Challenge Achievements: Complete special objectives, like "Flawless Run," to earn exclusive titles that bear the player's name.
3、Real-Time Display Mechanism: Who is the King of the Streets, Instantly Clear
Each stage interface will display the current Top 3 clear records and data across the entire server. - You're no longer just practicing alone; you're challenging the highest level on the entire server.
4、Optimized Challenge Pace: Play Long, Play Smart
Daily challenge limits and fixed-point refresh have been implemented to prevent repetitive grinding fatigue. - A new limited-time mission reward system has been added to encourage you to use different players and try various playstyles.
Custom Match System Evolution: The First Step Towards Player Co-creation
We've always hoped that you, wouldn't just "play matches" on the court, but also "host matches" yourselves. In this CBT2, the Custom Match system will also be updated, laying the groundwork for a future UGC (User-Generated Content) match ecosystem. - Password Room Settings: Freely adjust match time, rules, lineup restrictions, and more. - Initiate Recruitment Function: A convenient team-up mechanism goes live, providing a foundation for match organization. - Spectate and Reward Mechanism (Planned): In the next phase, we plan to support spectating and custom reward settings.
UI & Interaction Experience Optimization: Those Details You Complained About, We're on it
We've received all the feedback you provided during the first test, and we are progressively implementing improvements: - The Lobby now supports player skin and status display, fully showcasing the protagonist's charisma. - Prodigy Journey, task Guidance, beginner guidance have been comprehensively optimized. - Report and Redemption entry points have been moved for a cleaner, more streamlined experience. - Multi-language adaptation and text overlap fixes are gradually progressing.
