Fleapit’s Grab Bag Returns... With Vengeance!

Heeeeeey Guests of the Fleapit~

We may have skipped a month or two of these devlogs, hope that was just about enough time for you to start missing us a little bit!

Truth be told, we had to go slower than usual this last month due to quite a few team members getting sick (including me, who writes this very text lol), but we’re very much back in action and today we’re gonna make it up to you with quite a few gameplay bits from the upcoming New And Improved Steam Demo that we’ve been talking a lot in the past.

So let’s get the show rolling, shall we?

New Traps, New Foes

For starters, we can finally show more enemies that will torture your existence in the upcoming updated demo!

As you might recall, we promised to extend each Circle of Hell with subfloors – with each one containing a few exclusive demons that get progressively harder the deeper you go! This time around we’re going to focus on Limbo exclusively, so stay tuned for the next episode to see more, ok?~

MIMIC

Ah, the FromSoft classic! Some of the props around Limbo contain pesky Mimics which will emerge as soon as you approach them, so keep an eye out for this pair of eyes and maybe tone down the aggression towards the surrounding furniture, just in case.

COFFEE MANIAC

Surely this much coffee can’t be good for you? Well, Coffee Maniac seems to disagree – as long as a coffee machine is nearby, he’s literally unkillable. Without his fuel, however, he’s quite vulnerable, so you better dart across the room and de-coffee-fy it before finishing the poor sod off!

BOOKKEEPER

Watch your steps cuz it’s raining books! These nerdy demons prefer to take cover in the most annoying parts of any given room and support the main cast of enemies with projectiles that will keep you on the move. Imagine being sandwiched in a room between a bookkeeper and a coffee maniac and you’re in for a fun time~

Of course, there’s even more demons we didn’t mention so far – but you’ll have to see them for yourselves. It wouldn’t be fun to spoil everything after all, right?

More Items = More Fun

One of the things that was highly requested after the first demo were more impactful items. Ask and you shall receive, dear Guests of the Fleapit!

First of all, the random pick ups are categorized as ‘items’ and ‘skills’: the former ones being one-time use and latter recharging after a certain number of rooms is successfully cleared.

Let’s go over a couple of examples together, shall we?

GARLIC BREATH

A one-time use item that is all about dealing AoE damage in a massive radius. Just find a few suitable targets and deploy the stench that makes even the toughest demons suffer!

PURE SIN

This one’s trickier to use, but the potential for carnage is endless! Once you use a bottle of Pure Sin, you will have poisonous puddles appear underneath Newbie for a few beats and if you can predict where the enemies will be or if a lot of them are chasing you, this is a perfect recipe for quickly thinning the enemy ranks!

Special Quests

You didn’t think your visits to Circles of Hell are some kind of one and done thing, did you? Throughout your journey, Ladies of Fleapit will have requests for you – sometimes in the lobby, other times right in the dungeon.

Complete them and get the ultimate reward – the affection of a demon girl!

Quick Fleapit Trivia Bit: Diffusion Crystals One of the most important and incredibly scarce resources of Inferno as it allows the Freaked Fleapit to be in a stable state and not descend into complete chaos. Also used by the Lords of Hell to stabilize their offices. The production of the crystals is kept a closely guarded secret so that they will always be valuable.

And that’s where we’ll hit the brakes and stop today’s devlog! We still have much to show, but we don’t want to give away everything just yet, so make sure to come by next month to see what else we got for ya!
