General

Announcers · Adjustments - Increased frequency of lower combo count combo lines. - Last stock with a substantial deficit lines will now only play if an opponent under 50 damage if they’re only 2 lives ahead. · Bug Fixes - 📢 Fixed bug that prevented the "they’re blocking everything" and "fully charged strong hit" voice lines from playing. - 📢 Lines triggered by KO are no longer cut off early by silence if there is another KO while they play.

Gameplay · Buffer - Reordered logic to prevent landing during buffered attacks from being cancelled unintentionally. · Structures - Grazing angled walls while moving upward no longer shaves off a substantial portion of your vertical momentum. Instead, vertical momentum is rotated so it travels along the wall more naturally. - Increased protections against characters clipping through structures inappropriately in some circumstances. · Match Options - Fixed bug that prevented the timer from appearing when starting a match without adjusting the match options first. · HUD (Top) - 📢 Top HUD users (all three of you) now have more padding between the HUD and the top of the screen. - 📢 Match timer now dynamically moves to the bottom right of the screen when there are more than 2 players in a match to make room for the Top HUD.

Hit Sparks · Rudimentary Elemental Hitsparks - Implemented rudimentary color swaps of the standard hitsparks that correspond to different elements, like fire (red hitspark), electricity (purple hitspark), and ice (light blue hitspark). They have been applied to the cast where appropriate. - We’re planning to swap out these color-swapped versions with truly custom elemental hitsparks over time.

Backyard · Stage Select Images - 📢 Large and small preview images updated. · Background - 📢 Tearing is now prevented for non-pixel perfect resolutions. - 📢 Slightly adjusted pixel art.

Merchant Port · Bug Fix - 📢 The hazard version of the stage no longer breaks when you have the "Show Backgrounds" gameplay option set to "OFF".

Custom Content

Hit Sparks · attackElement - Implemented rudimentary color swaps of the standard hitsparks to correlate with each element. This allows creators to set attackElement for their attacks, which will future proof content as new elemental hitsparks and hitsounds get added moving forward. The attackElements for now are:

  • Fire
  • red
  • Electric
  • purple
  • Ice
  • light blue
  • Magic
  • blue and yellow
  • Water

(new!) - blue - Darkness (new!) - dark purple - Deprecated the Poison, Wind, and Lay attackElements - These have been removed because they were confusing - attackElement primarily correlates to aesthetic changes only. These elements can imply additional functionality, which we want to avoid. We also don’t currently have plans to make a full hitspark set for any of these attackElements. If this changes in the future, they’ll be re-added. · Air Dash - Using toState(CState.AIRDASH_DELAY) now respects the player's directional inputs for the air dash.

Note: Changes with a 📢 in front resulted from suggestions by our community!
