New Gameplay Trailer Released
The trailer is an incremental update of the previous one, and it showcases a few graphical updates and some of the new missions I've talked about this month. This will probably be the trailer that will be up during the Early Access release on March 27, so I hope it really captures the essence of the game. Enjoy!
New Tutorials Now Available
View on Steam The tutorials, on the other hand, are brand new. They come in the form of quick, no-commentary videos that are meant to provide instant guidance to demo players and a sneak peek to everyone else. If you were curious about the specific gameplay mechanics included in Fortified Space, the tutorials can be an easy way to take a quick look. And by quick, I mean quick. The shortest video, which is about composting, is 26 seconds.
Soundtrack Coming March 13, 2026
Fortified Space Original Soundtrack The soundtrack is coming out on March 13, two weeks before the game's release! If you want, you'll be able to buy the soundtrack for about one dollar (USD) while you wait for the game to come out. I made all the music myself, and I am definitely not a professional musician, so make sure to give the songs a listen before you buy them. They're all available for free on Youtube if you search for “Fortified Space Original Soundtrack," but if you want the .wav/.mp3 files or want to support this game's development, you can buy the soundtrack. It's got 10 original songs, all of which I made specifically for this game.
Development Status
I am continuing to work hard to polish up what I can before release. Playtesters haven't found any significant bugs so far, so hopefully that means a fairly smooth launch. In addition to the tutorial videos, which will be included in-game as player tutorials, I've also been adding more prompts and guidance throughout the game to help make first playthroughs even more fun.
There are a lot of planned features still on my mind, but I'll probably save those for development during Early Access. After a certain point, you've got to stop and polish, because new features always come with new bugs! I still have a running list of all the suggestions you have provided, though, and will go through and see what is feasible to add. Early Access is just the start.
