World Cup Finals

Teams eliminated in yesterday's World Cup playoffs (such as Albania, Ukraine, and Suriname) have been removed from the 2026 World Cup Finals event. They’re now placed in the Losers World Cup event instead.

Improved Navigation

The "/seasons/2026" pages (formerly "/tournaments/2026") now feature improved routing and inter-linking. These changes apply to both the Web and Steam versions, but the benefits are easier to notice on the web version.

The address bar now stays in sync with the stage you’re viewing — for example:

https://simcups.com/seasons/2026/south-american-nations-cup/guest-qualifiers/20/teams/stage?activeRoundIndex=0&page=1

This link takes you directly to the Teams section of the CONMEBOL Qualifiers. If the event doesn’t already exist, the simulator will automatically create it for you.

One of the benefits is that when you leave “/seasons/2026”—for example, to visit “/teams/active”—and then hit your browser’s Back button to go back to "/seasons/2026", you’ll return to exactly the stage where you left off.

The URL slugs, in the above example “south-american-nations-cup” and “guest-qualifiers”, can be edited using the editor.

Matches

Clicking a team’s previous group ranking in the knockout stage now takes you straight to the Group Stage view, replacing the old standings pop-up. You can easily return to the knockout stage using your browser’s Back button.

Clicking a team’s pot button now redirects you to the Teams tab, automatically showing the specific pot that team belongs to.

Teams -> Download

The section has been moved to the bottom of the "Teams"-> "Stage" tab.
