changedDear all, It has been quite some time since I've posted an announcement. I'm sorry for all the silence but the AI revamp is really sucking up whatever energies we have. It's really done to make sure u'll have choices... ie, easy, medium, hard AI which will offer a reasonable challenge instead of cheating or steamrolling u with build hacks and unfair intel.
addedProgressWe're currently at the 3rd leg (out of 4) of the AI revamp dealing with intelligence gathering. Eventually we'll get to fleet management and tactics. The AI is already at this point (not deployed though) robust in its build order and fleet building plans with intelligence in budgeting, survival and operations management (just like how u'd play). The new AI will also be applied onto campaign missions. So... watch out eh...
changedWhat's new and confirmedPreviously I've spoken about some new features regarding character recruitment? I think we'll have to shelf that change until we gather more feedback. Next, the rotation camera will be improved to provide elevation as well. It'll behave like a "Rotate around position" camera.
addedWhat's next after AI?The world will be populated with new objects, doodads and hazards. This is a confirmed feature and will appear in V1.08c. Which I hope is between Febuary and March. Lastly, we'll put in the "Survival" game mode for single battles, which will extend to multiplayer as well so that you can do "Co-op Survival". This mode is all about action, less about overall strategy, more about cooperation and tactics. P.S. Do let us know if you want to control your own fighters and bombers. Ie, flying your own patrol , escort missions or bombing runs.

Progress

We're currently at the 3rd leg (out of 4) of the AI revamp dealing with intelligence gathering. Eventually we'll get to fleet management and tactics. The AI is already at this point (not deployed though) robust in its build order and fleet building plans with intelligence in budgeting, survival and operations management (just like how u'd play). What's new and confirmed

Previously I've spoken about some new features regarding character recruitment? I think we'll have to shelf that change until we gather more feedback. Next, the rotation camera will be improved to provide elevation as well. It'll behave like a "Rotate around position" camera.

Request for feedback

I'll need to know if a first-person camera is desired. Ie, you can move around the game using w,a,s,d keys.

What's next after AI?

The world will be populated with new objects, doodads and hazards.

Conclusion

Thanks for your support. We've come a long way from v1.0 till now and it has been a year+ since. We've not stopped working on Foresight and we won't until all the promised features are in the game. Free. We humbly seek your feedback and will be listening to you intently on how we can further improve Foresight. I'm looking forward to announce the launch of V1.08b patch soon. Regards, Jeremy
