Foresight changes
Dear all, It has come to our attention that the laptops with touchpads that can detect gestures may cause a problem with Foresight. You may have experienced it every now and then that Foresight suddenly zooms in and slides across the map without any means to stop the slide. The only way seemingly is to restart the game. Why is this happening? Foresight's zoom-in/out functionality is based on the mouse wheel input. Incidentally, this is also used by touchpad gestures to zoom in as well. The problem is - the gestures doesn't seem to reset itself in its raw state. As a result, Foresight picks it up and considers it as a kind of mouse wheel event.
Workaround
Of course, I do not suggest disabling the touchpad. Instead, you can try to redo the same gesture for scaling. This is usually done by putting 2 fingers on the touchpad and dragging one of them up or down. Once you've managed to "calm" the gesture down, the game will work as per normal. Unfortunately, since this is a raw command and every touchpad may have different gestures, we can't fix the issue on our end. We'll try to come up with some workarounds in the game to detect some anomalies in the future - but unlikely to be comprehensive either. The other workaround is to allow an option to disable the mouse wheel as a means to zoom in/out. We'll consider that seriously in the near future.
Conclusion
No, the game isn't broken. It's just a set of variables that happen to cause a problem in the game. More feedback will be useful for us to trap the anomaly. Have a nice day! Jeremy
