Focus Grove changes
Update 1.0.36 is here!
This may look like a smaller update from the player side, but it includes some important under-the-hood changes. The biggest one is Addressables, which help Focus Grove load assets only when they are needed.
This should mostly improve the experience for new players and early loading, but everyone should benefit a little from lower unnecessary resource usage. It was also an important step for us, because it makes it easier to add more new things to Focus Grove in future updates.
Collapsible Tasks
You can now collapse tasks in the To-Do list to hide their subtasks when you do not need to see every little step at once.
This should make longer task lists much easier to read and manage, especially if you like breaking bigger goals into smaller steps.
New Game Options
Starting a new game can now keep your widget data if you choose to.
That means you can reset your grove while keeping things like your notes, tasks, habits, and Pomodoro settings.
This is also a small step toward a bigger save system in the future. I would like to add profiles, multiple farms, and more flexible save options later, so these New Game options are the first foundation for that.
Better Building Previews
Building and field ghosts were reworked, so previews should now behave more consistently before placing or moving objects.
Display and Multi-Monitor Fixes
I also worked on display switching and multi-monitor setups in this update.
Some players with multiple monitors reported problems with changing displays. This should be improved now. I hope.
Multi-monitor setups can be tricky to test because every setup is a little different, so please let me know if something still does not behave correctly on your screen.
Performance and Loading Improvements
This update adds Addressables, which lets the game load some assets only when they are actually needed.
In practice, this should help reduce unnecessary loading at startup and make the game handle content in a smarter way.
There were also more pathfinding and performance improvements, so Woodlings should no longer block each other or accidentally wander outside the farm.
Thank you for all the feedback, bug reports, and suggestions!
