English Advance 500 Word Free Pack is Live

The free English content path is now complete

FlashBoss is a progressive vocabulary builder with spaced repetition flashcards and gamified boss fights as the mastery testing and card-purging mechanism. Every foreign language pack targets the same destination: the high-frequency vocabulary that carries around 90% of real text, roughly 3,000 words per language. The English format is described below:

English Advance — A2 / 6th Grade / Core Skills

500 cards. The base.

Filling out forms. Reading official letters and understanding what they're asking of you. Writing letters and emails without issues. A series of short review lessons, with a focus on the structural rules of writing — capitalization, paragraphs, basic structure.

Don't allow language skills to be a factor in your success.

English Adept — B2 / 8th Grade / Advanced Skills

1,000 cards. The superstructure.

Places you for university entry. Critical thinking vocabulary. Synonyms and antonyms for the words you've already learned. More advanced grammar shown in actual use. Vocabulary for precision and clear articulation of cognition, emotion and intention.

Bug fixes

Previously Flagged: Mac Launch bug. Status: Fixed

New finds and fixes:

The Vault: the backup profile was losing master information on save. If you have any issues with saving or backing up, or restoring profiles, please contact me.

The big one, and I'm sorry. The streak buffer from drive wasn't working in the case where you completed a few cards but fewer than your daily streak target. More than zero, less than streak. I cost myself with this bug. I was reviewing German myself and lost a substantial streak.

Remaining Known Bugs:

The vault is not cloud saving between machines. If you back up a profile on one machine, it will be missing on your other machine. I am actively working on a solution.

Use Caching for Instant Audio

FlashBoss produces text-to-speech audio locally on your machine. If this causes a lag before the audio is generated for you, select Option 2 from the help menu to preload the audio per tier for instant playback.

Screen Resolution Issues

I had one user, and reviewer who was never able to see the screen correctly. I find this puzzling. I'm actively searching for any remaining screen resolution issues— if you're seeing layout issues, please let me know, and also tell me your operating system. Screenshots would be extremely valuable. I will give you more DLC if you really help me here.

Possibly unrelated: FlashBoss requires Windows Terminal for windows. It comes installed on Windows 11 but older windows OS may need to download it free from the Microsoft store.
